I don't know if i hate Brazil, or just their Liverpool players. Yes I'm a petty, bitter man.

Brazil are tough to watch, a bunch of shithouses and even their flare players are utterly odious

Argentina have deserved to win, but they are perennial losers and routinely choke when in front of goal when the pressure is on. They have some good young players coming through though - Paredes has been impressive all tournament, Martinez looks like the next great Argentina striker and of course Foyth - they really need to shed the old guard who have constantly failed

This my friend. What happened to the fun loving Brazil of yesteryear. Odious is the perfect word for them.

And another opportunity to win silverware with his country slips away for Messi.

The last good side was probably the one with Ronaldo, Cafu, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Juninho & Kaka in the 2002 WC squad.

Impressive that Brazil still haven’t conceded a goal. I think Chile will win tomorrow and play them in the final.

Honestly I feel bad for Messi, everyone will make jokes and say another tournament he hasn’t won anything with Argentina but what can he do? Despite all their attacking talents he’s still the player that does everything going forward for them & it’s not his fault the defence is shit and that the managers he’s had are all clueless.
Why does he get so much blame but a world class player like Aguero barely performs for Argentina and nothing is being said

As for Foyth I really hope we’re not planning to use him as a RB next season, he could do a job there but his future is as a CB or DM
He’s not got the pace to play there

Really? I think he’s been very poor and has been lucky in some games that he didn’t get sent off

Honestly everyone can call me crazy if they want but I actually think Higuain has been better for Argentina than Aguero, he’s always been shit for them and nothing is being said. That’s why I have never really rated him as top 3 Striker in the world and rank Kane higher than him

2 blatant penalties that were not given.
I have defended VAR, but if they want to rob you, they will rob you with or without VAR. The referee was atrocious

I was in and out of the match so i obviously missed one, but the one on Otemendi was defo a pen.
Update: Just saw the first one before Brazil broke and scored. Another pretty good shout for a pen. Obviously Brazil favoritism going on here. Not good.

First one was a shout but the otamendi foul was ridiculous. Argentina deserved more but for me the di Maria sub was a waste and took away from their impetus at the time. Brazil look weak, dirty and far from convincing.

Interesting reading the different takes on this game. Ref was poor, and agree Argentina had a couple of good shouts for pens. Argentina had to chase most of the game due to the early Brazil goal, had their chances, but think Brazil had another gear in them if needed.

Argentina hit the woodwork twice; unlucky with the chance that hit the bar first half. Messi hit the post second half, but Allison looked like he had it covered anyway.

That Argentinian backline, particularly centrally, looked really vulnerable on the rare occasions Brazil threw players forward on the counter. Transition ball from defence to CMs to attack was so laboured from Argentina.

Di Maria has to be one of the most frustrating players. Brilliant at times, but sometimes has such a poor first touch, or overruns the ball or puts too much pace on his passes.

Despite the ref, don’t think Argentina were good enough to win that game.

Seriously how was this not a penalty? Argentina could’ve scored the pen and it would’ve been 1-1 and Argentina could then win the game but instead they counter attack and its 2-0 and game over
