One of those ones that looked more out every time I saw it. Were fingers not at least slightly under the ball?

They really need to find some technology to show these catches properly. In my view that was out, but it's always the same, the replay makes it really unclear and then the batsmen has to get the benefit of the doubt.

I think it was the straight on one that showed most clearly it was into the ground but alot closer than I thought on first glance - right decision although there would have been some karma if Smith had got out like that.

True. The camera on my Samsung can zoom in 100x relatively clearly. Here we're looking for a clear frame, what, 6 or 7 times zoomed in? That looked out to me.

Nice honest reaction from Root, he didn’t celebrate so probably knew it had grounded.
Can’t imagine the opposition would’ve done the same…..

Not so sure. If I'm 3rd umpire I'm giving Smith and Head out there.
