This is now beyond a joke. Harry must go with the stars and keep Gareth away for any premiership line up (or drop Gomes!)

In case anyone doesn't know the stat, we have never won a Premiership game in which Gareth Bale has started. i'm not having a go at the player, just the luck he doesn't bring us!

So I don't agree with the vitriol this seems to have prompted below. Bale is a decent player, maybe a bit low on confidence.

And he sems to hae run over our THFC black cat!

I think the stat is a bit silly but Bale really was atrocious today.

He's a big big talent though so I hope he can start playing to his ability soon.

Couldn't understand why Bale was picked today. BAE has been so much better this season.

It is just a coincidence however I'm one of Bales biggest fans but he was awful today. Too many people forget he's 19 and will learn especially defensively where he is weak and that will improve with time.

I don't think anyones saying he's rubbish and we should get rid, but at the moment he's so low on confidence, and I'm sure this "curse" is weighing over him as well. He needs to be rested, Harry needs to get alongside him and help him out, because if he carries on as he has this season we could have trouble. BAE has been pretty good when picked there, and should have played today.

Bale gave the ball away too many times today, seems to be getting a reputation as a diver and gave away a corner that led to their goal despite having come close to conceding a goal from every other corner fulham had taken before that.. Overall we played shit today and got ourselves back in the relegation zone..

OMG here we go again, we lose so it's lets pick out players to blame. Bale, Gomez et al if the pen had been given against Ledders I suppose it would have been his fault too ?

For once let's just stop the knee jerk reactions shall we, the run had to come to an end at some stage and I've seen more positives over the last few games than negatives.

Even today, although we didn't win or play well, we still looked as though we could get back into the match.

Thta's far better than a few weeks ago when as soon as we kicked off we looked as though we were going to lose.

So come on, stick with the team and stop picking on our OWN players.

I agree even with todays poor performance we looked better than a few weeks back at the same time I dont think its a matter of picking on players.

On paper we have a far superior team to Fulham and I think Arry, the players and the fans should be expecting three points from games like this so naturally its disappointing.

When you lose a game you should win its only natural to look at where we went wrong.

No knee jerk from me, it's just that Bale is struggling at the moment.

I ghet pissed off with the accusations of knee-jerk. Bale has been consistenly poor all season and on a forum like this things get analysed on a game by game basis. We lost today so it's natural to pick the faults of why.

OK so knee jerk might be the wrong phrase, but my point is still valid. The THFC management, whoever they may be know far more than we do about who's best picked for a game, and assuming the players in question want to go out and do a job for us, then "picking" on them to my mind does nothing constructive other than to vent our frustrations on the match result.

It makes this forum a sad place to be, bacause I know that after a bad result, I'm going to come in here and know there will be threads on XYZ was s**t that's why we lost.

There's nothing wrong in constructive critisism pointing out this or that error in a game, but when it get's down to he's this and that and should nver had been signed etc I think it goes over the mark. Do we really know better than professional football people ?

I'm not saying that Bale in particular is being "picked" on even though any critisism is funny bearing in mind a few weeks ago a lot of people were concerned that Man u were going to nick him from us, but I bet there's a few anti Gomes threads here already.

Over the last few games it's all been jolly in here, I was just waiting for the reaction to our first bad result.

It's human nature to look for someone, or something to blame when things go wrong but ffs, it would be nice to come in and see that we're above all that and realise that even footballers are human and they are trying their best so deserve our support.

Bale has been poor for the past few games, it's a case of form and confidence and nothing to do with talent or potential, the lad will come good, but maybe not at LB. He got turned an awful lot today and gave the ball away quite a bit. BAE at LB and Bale at LW makes alot more sense to me, although ultimately I think we need a replacement at LB.
