On Silva, he wants to play. He also is under contract until 2025, so he, like Kane, has a lot of room to decide where he wants to go. If it is Spain, I do not begrudge him that. I have to assume also that Silva, Laporte et al will all want CL and larger wages. Just need to find a willing buyer who will pay what City want/need to blur the lines of propriety.

Should we not all be asking how fair the system is when one team can buy, arguably, two of the best English players in one window? When no other team can/will stump it, are we not heading towards a PSG situation?

Swaps rarely happen which is why Kane will be sold for money money money. City can worry about the finances later and we all know FFPR violations do not cost them anything but dirty oil money fines, so there is no issue. I, for one, have no faith the money cheaters will ever be properly punished (ie UEFA ban)

Really glad to see the reports that City are reluctantly coming around to the fact that the starting point is 150M GBP. When that offer comes in, they will be able to start negotiating. It will not be going down from there. 150M plus add-ons and then we let Paratici do his job. I suspect he can do something with 150M GBP and $200k/week freed up in wages. Best news of the day, followed up by Dane Scarlett will start.

From what I have read Silva's Family have already moved to Spain, he has one of these Gentlemen Agreements too but City's probablem is most Spanished Clubs are well in debt and looks like City may have to loan him and proably pick up part of his £220k a week wages.

City need to tread a fine line as whilst UEFA case against them failed I believe down to time restrictions the English Authorities are after them and with the likehood of Kane going there for £150m+ and probably on wages of £300k+ a week their Financial position willl once again be in question and they probably need to move one or two players on but wages as always with the likes of City and Chelsea is the problem for most clubs.

I don't understand the wages thing if a player wants to leave he must accept a cut in wages. That said it's clear Silva isn't coming to us so there's no more to be said on him.
We are clearly not accepting part ex for Kane and that's fine by me.

I guess the fact he has 3 years left on his contract his protectial earnings with City are c£33m, now whilst that for the likes of me and most to live confortably on for the rest of my life footballers are a strange breed. I suspect he will remain a City Player for the next 3 years but be on loan to a Spanish Club who will pick up some of his wages.

This is the problem with the likes of City/Chelsea/United they put players on such a massive wage when they want them gone its almost impossible to move them.

This 'deals already agreed in principle' thing doesn't sound right to me. Too high risk.

No reason these clubs don't change their mind or move the goalposts as soon as the Kane deal is announced/finalised, and if we complete them prior to Kane then why wait? Makes no sense
Well, it depends how solvent the selling club is. 2 different perspectives. Either we hope the selling club still will sell at the agreed price and not hike it… Or the selling club is broke (and many are due to corona) and absolutely counting on our money and hoping we still want their player.

I think a lot of clubs are desperate and that one or two deals will set off a domino effect of deals.

Cmon guys .. a nice birthday quadruple announcement please, that would be lovely !!
Wishing you the most optimistic and happiest of birthdays! It's match day so I doubt we would announce anyone especially as we're away and can't do what United did with Varane and Newcastle with Willock.
