Kane is irreplaceable as an individual. No one in world football truely like him and certainly not in our budget/wage range.

BUT if you have seen the film Moneyball you’ll know it’s possible to get players that can ADD up to a Kane (or as close to possible) if that makes sense.

We need people in positions all over the pitch so like Trix says. If they meet our terms then we just need to crack on with the rebuild to add up to Kane stats.

Yep, it's what Villa have kinda done post Grealish.

Yes.

Look he's a world class player, there is no doubt about that. He is however 28 and has real injury concerns. We could hold him and sell next season for less than we will get now, or we could sell buy 2 quality up and coming forwards and a quality CB or CM with what is left.

If it wasn't for his ankles I'd be against it, but we all know they've kept him out for extended periods on multiple occasions already, and the issues aren't fixable with surgery etc.

My personal opinion is that we have a new manager, new DOF and a full on squad rebuild ongoing. I'd rather do as much as possible in one window and have them all settling in asap. Rebuilds are always painful, and I'd rather do it quick. Like a plaster just rip it off and be done with it rather than prolonging the pain over a couple of seasons.

One thing I would say though is I 100% would not be interested in him ever coming back if he goes.

this is it for me, he's fucked his legacy with us..

I suspect that if we are going to even take City's calls on Kane, it won't happen until after Sunday's game.

At this point it's definitely too late for a transfer to be completed and for Kane to be in City's squad on Sunday, so that's something,

Kane deal get's done early next week IMO.

I think it's lined up straight after we've played them.

It's certainly possible. With the match on Sunday it would be far too sensitive a time to announce anything before then. The team/ bench selection should speak volumes.

So we're back to Kane is going again :) I honestly am not ruffled by this either way now, if he stays fine if he goes I believe we've got top strikers to come in not counting Dane Scarlett.
As for Winks insisting on staying, well he may start to question his choice if we actually bring in one or two high class midfielders, at present he's looking at Skipp in and probably Sissoko out so we haven't added anyone.

I think we’re right to be looking at strengthening the midfield. Skipp is green, Ndombele a risk, Winks is back up at best, Dele likely to be found out in CM and Lo Celso while quality has been fragile. Definitely need more options here.
We need different options, not more. Outgoings have stalled, if we cant trust that list of options, I hope we choose to move a couple of them on.

Buying strikers is always a bit of a lottery though (especially with us.) Look at Werner last season, everyone expected him to be brilliant in this league and he was a bit of a let down for Chelsea, so much so that they’ve splurged another hundred million on Lukaku this summer.

Also, while I’m hopeful of the potential of Scarlett, he’s still just a kid that’s not scored a senior goal, was only 18 months ago everyone was creaming themselves over Parrot.

I think people are underestimating just how damaging it’s going to be to lose Kane.

Wasn’t Austin recalled early from his loan, so perhaps the Whiteman deal was already planned.
Regarding City coming back in, maybe they tried to lowball us based on Kane’s antics, but out firm stance along with suggesting he will play against them has promoted them to act. If we’ve told them it’s a specific price or no deal, they can try to negotiate all the like, I get the feeling the club won’t bend over on this, and if he does go wouldn't read too much in to how City spin it. Pep’s comments the other day about we’ll only talk of Spurs are prorated to negotiate came across a bit ‘we’re City, we dictate terms’, so he can do one.
The level of CM interest from us suggests to me Sissoko is off imminently. One of the ITK suggested Winks will not be replaced, Skipp is already earmarked for that, but Sissoko would be replaced from abroad.
The CB links have gone a bit quiet now, so is this a case of one of Paratici’s deals is already agreed and ready to be actioned, maybe based on waiting for Sanchez to go, so we’ve moved to other areas.

I agree with this fully, however I'm probably a bit different in that I'd be more than willing to sell at 130/140 to get this done and not the 160/180 figure that others say is the minimum they will take...reason being just to get this rebuild going and have 2 strikers with a good season and experience under their belt so next season they should be ready to hit the ground running.

Thought that meant we were signing Neil Young. Then I realised it probably wasn’t about him. ?

I would love to see the back of Kane ASAP, personally. I have no warm feelings toward him and that won’t change.
Interestingly Man City* used to have a player called Neil Young playing for them. He was good but not 'Like A Harrykane'.

Be interesting to see if City have put their big boy pants on this time around, and actually come in with a serious offer.

I kinda hope they do, I've had enough of this saga and the fallout already, and personally want it done in order to crack on with the rebuild.

And City know that. So i expect more low-ball offers and more media fuelled disruption.

I think the silence from anyone following the publicised meeting of Kane his reps the manager and the club leans heavily to him leaving as soon as city bud the minimum we will trade...for that I guess we are establishing the figures we can buy our replacements!

As much as I ultimately want Kane gone, this is a such a transitional season for us, keeping him can be worth more than £Xm we'll lose.

We could have an almost new backline and front line. It's a lot of new people to integrate at the same time.

I am 100% in the sell HK now (providing the fee is the £150-160m quoted as being required). I do think Harry will probably go on and break EPL scoring records, but his mobility is not what is was in the last season at WHL and 1st season at Wembley. I am not sure he is of the physical attributes of Ronaldo and some of the others that will see his performance levels maintain to 34-35. Therefore clean slate and rebuild in what is the buyers market of all buying markets. The club could be set for the next 4-5 years if this is managed right (Only for Daniel to think he could go for a few transfer windows without buying a player).

I think with Lukaku going to Chelsea and Messi to PSG, City have to go for Kane to out pace either in the EPL and UCL respectively. They are the ultimate win now mentality team so paying £160m for a 28 year old is not an issue for them seemingly.
