Oh Herc... you don't need to apologize. Weird has been our catchphrase ever since Danny fed Jose to the fishes a week before a cup final. At this point, normal would feel weird.

A lot of activity going on for next week hopefully. But not revealing anything! Due to information being used creatively. Apologies if it sounds a bit weird.

The contact told you through the medium of expressive dance? Very creative

Hold the faith with Paratici and incomings. It’s clear that we have had to hit pause slightly while this Kane thing plays out. There must be a deadline with that and all transfers will surely fall like dominos once that goes one way or the other. I think we have 1-2 targets that are regardless of Kane going or not, sitting there ready to complete, but it’s probably prudent to wait and see if he goes, because then it will be 3-4 + in and and we may be able to afford different higher quality players that cost more than the ones we have set with only the trigger needing to be pulled.

Tomiyasu feels like it will happen either way

Kounde/Tores/Milinkovic/Lacroix/Coady et al feels like it’s a wait and see if we have Kane money, before we decide which option to fully go for

Martinez/Vlahovic - Martinez was stated as being regardless of Kane staying or going but if Kane goes you’d have to think we go in strong for both.

Georgian winger. Who knows. Could possibly be lined up as a speculative punt attempt at hitting a jackpot if we have Kane money or could be a switch for Bergwyn/Lucas if one of them go. If you got him in your hope that one of him or Gill would hit paydirt and turn into something special. And that would be a reasonable return.

CM feels dependant on Winks/Sissoko going.Palhinha has no player thread, but has been linked on and off throughout the summer. Would love to see him come in and rotate with Skipp/PEH

I’m not going to concern myself too much with conflicting ITK reports right now. Things will become much clearer next week when the Kane situation will have to clarify itself one way or another. Much will be decided off the back of that.

He can throw all the ‘ I want to win trophies’ bollocks around all he likes, it’s not like he hasn’t had the opportunities with us, and shown himself to be wanting right at the vinegar strokes, on more than one occasion. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve said before, being a gentleman of a certain age I have had the privilege of seeing some truly world class players wear the Lilly white shirt of ours and he’s up there with the best of them…..but he’s had more chances than a lot of them….and not taken them.

Just realised this is also the wrong thread……

Spot on.

I have no doubt Paratici has his finger on the trigger for a few deals that could be done with a phone call.

His job however has been made more complicated with Kane. We could sign 3-4 good players if Kane stays, if he leaves that could turn into 3-4 top class players.

It's a huge difference.

Deadline must be in place either way.

Looking forward to the Dons trigger finger either way.

The goings is always the issue. So many players for so many years disappointed they are not playing more, yet flabbergasted that teams higher in the pecking order have no interest at all. They won't move down, they won't take less wages. So they stay, don't play, and, ultimately, stop Spurs from progressing. As I see it, there are at least 3 or 4 this year that need to move on. Will they go? Happy that Nuno wants a smaller squad. That is good. If we have to keep 3 or 4 who will not play, fine.

On Kane, he wants to go, City want him, Levy has his price. City meet the price (plus ou moins) and off he goes. Nothing complicated about it. I will not slag Kane for our not winning things. Never just one player. Takes a team and coach. He should not have started against Liverpool. Should have been the impact sub we needed. Europa was a matter of a team not wanting to do what needed to be done and Carabao the squad was completely kneecapped. Won't lay any of that at the feet of Harry Kane.

There is a plan. Dominos need to (and will) fall. Like every year, no top striker will come in to be Harry's backup. I have every confidence that FP, Nuno and DL know have every contingency covered. There will be late deals. Just a Spurs reality.

For now, get behind the lads tomorrow and let's see where all the chips have fallen at the end of the month. Shut out City tomorrow and the pressure on them to sign a striker will be right through the roof.

It’s all feeling like a mishandled cock up in all regards. Even players we are targetting big bids for don’t seem to want to come and Kane wants to go but he can’t wrangle that. So instead we have this horrible air of negativity where everything is in limbo….urgh always feels like we can’t just be excited for new season without some BS dragging us down and gapping holes in our squad.
Hopefully some movement on the pitch will cheer me up.

I really don't know why you feel so low I'm impatient but I'm very excited about the new season, it's like a fresh start and if nothing else it's going to look different.
I am also confident our targets will be coming in pretty soon now.

I guess I’ve been a supporter for over 30years and get so sick of us not being ready and so many things up in the air before first game of season. Momentum is everything in football and once again feels we are bumbling along. Yes we have a plan but everything always seems so pie in the sky.
I live with Chelsea supporters and they are always so calm about the season meanwhile it’s a bit embarrassing when some of our key players don’t even want to play Kane, n’nombele and the ones we want to get rid are so crap no one wants and the ones we want (Pau, Kounde) make it clear they wouldn’t consider us.
I’m sure I’ll perk up.

To be honest, given the Euros, a manager change, an entire restructuring of how the player recruitment side of things is run, an unhappy World Class player (advised by a World Class Numpty) I’m surprised it’s gone as well as it has. We’ve signed one of the best defenders in Europe and are expecting a flood of new faces in.

This isn’t a rebuild for this year, it’s the one that should have happened a while ago for the next 4-5 years.
