I would think that is on hold until we know what calibre if player we can go for, Taganga has probably thrown a spanner in the works there after his fine display this past Sunday and also we still have Aurier floating around the training complex so it is a bit difficult to bring another RB in right now, Paratici seems to line his ducks in a row then pulls the trigger on the ones he wants so personally i think we need to see a few outs before we start getting some ins with the exception of a striker as we need another regardless of the HK situation.

We've had ITK on multiple occasions stating that Paratici is putting a lot of groundwork in on deals and that agents expect things to really kick off in the last 7-10 days of the window.

We've also clearly got this Kane situation hanging over us which would have a huge impact on our transfer budgets and therefore the targets we can go for.

I think we just need to chill and be patient. If things are still quiet this time next week then I think the panic will be warranted.

I agree with most of your post but the bolded part gets said every single window and it gets a bit tiresome tbh. We always leave the majority of our business late and at a time where Kane may still go I can understand why people are feeling very worried and a bit pessimistic at the moment.

I'm a Spurs fan, I totally get the concern! I just think with Paratici in place we will have more capacity to do deals quickly as the window closes in.

If it was the same setup before with Levy as defacto DoF I'd be just as worried as everyone else.

Id say its going to quiet until next week, when it becomes clearer as to whether Kane stays or goes.

The reason why it gets said every window is that others always get prematurely angry and upset about our dealings. And that is equally tiresome.

A few bits on Kane form both sides(sort of)

Hearing a few bits from an agent that has had recent dealings with both sides of this.

Deadline is Friday. That is known by both sides although that rarely means teams won't bid after a deadline has passed. City are willing and more than likely going to bid again. Problem is what they are saying they are willing to go, to is still someway short of what we are willing to accept. Whilst there hasn't been an OFFICIAL bid since the beginning of the window there has been verbal discussions regarding this and City raised to around 125+ add-ons(hypothetically) end of last week. It was dismissed but certainly a step in the right direction.

It's my understanding that we have now decided the add-ons doesn't really work for us despite them being very much in the discussions this far, and many of those proposals will now be off the table. Levy(goalpost shifter extraordinaire) now wants straight cash. From the city side of things they are still confident they will negotiate this out.

......................................................................................................................................................

Also from my contact at the club......So pretty much nothing has changed.

From the Spurs side it's fuck the negotiations, this is the price and once you meet it you can then expect it to change in our favour then we do the deal. That is Levy. We all know and usually very much to our frustration, he does this with EVERY SINGLE DEAL bar none.

Anyone saying the deal is done and it's about our replacements is wrong. It's just not true at all. If the right bid comes in HE CAN GO, if it doesn't he 100% stays until next Summer minimum and that is that.

As much as I agree with you, I fear selling him to City.

Kane is exactly what they need to start trouncing teams by 5 or 6 each game. They're crying out for a top notch striker and focal point in attack. Added to the fact Kane can also play effectively as a false 9, he is perfect for Guardiola's City team
Yet they appear (based on reported bids / negotiation tactics) to value him little or no more highly than Jack Grealish...who they arguably didn't even need due to their pre-existing strength in depth in his playing positions.

If they're serious about signing him, they need to stop trying to low-ball us. The ITK about negotiations starting at £150m and only going upwards from there sounds realistic to me, as he has to be worth far more than Grealish or Lukaku (to us and them).
