Half the posters here have this group mantra around this time that it'll all be alright, and very rarely has it been. Chill, DL this etc.

We fluffed Moutinho on deadline day, money left etc. is why we went early for Paulinho I suspect, we have big issues in the side to remedy if we want to compete and the fact that so many deals we have put time into haven't worked out isn't a good indication for the rest of the window if past form is anything to go by.

Too few of our youngsters are anywhere near ready for the level we need to perform at to attain CL, we need a player injection and its been well overdue.

I'd be surprised and delighted if we had a striker in within a fortnight, I'd say we're more likely to have sold one or two if we're lucky.

If we're working through lists of targets, does this mean we've already failed to get AVB's first choices? I don't know, but I'm not overly optimistic given our form for late in the day scrabbling and bargain hunting.

I think half the posters on here are realistic and have come to the conclusion that it is what it is. Chill, but what can we do about it?

Personally I have to have faith in the management and those at the helm to take the club forward. And if not, then I was still down at Palace's ground to see Klinsman keep us up that year and quite enjoyed that little ride too.

No one is going to worry about any difference in opinion, but it certainly 'aint worth blowing a gasket over it. Not really a lot you can do.

In fairness Coops, you wanted Harry sacked about two years before he was ( from when we finished 5th and QF of CL ) and spent those multiple years using every post to go on about how much you hated him like a one track broken record. Surely you can understand some pure unadulterated hatred and what it does to a man

I never wanted Recaro to be employed by our club in the first place, then his total mistreatment of 50% of the squad only added fuel to my already burning rage, along with his total lack of tactical knowledge, lack of respect for the club & it's supporters, constant mouth flapping & downright dimwittery (I made that word up ).

My hatred for Recaro was based upon almost a lifetime of seeing this self proclaimed messiah, the darling of the press etc etc, being praised for doing nothing other than getting teams promoted, then relegated, then promoted etc etc etc. It was not based upon 11 days of transfer activity (or lack of, according to Paolo), which is the crux of the issue in this instance. I also fail to see what I say on any other forum has to do with this one?

You're right though, I'm a hypocritical bastard .

Back to actually being on topic, though. The camp transfer guy on SSN just confirmed that Huddlestone is close to moving, so there is good news (hopefully) coming soon.

Paolo, its the heat biglad us Irish/Norn Irish simply aren't built to handle it.

While I see where your coming from regarding the signings I don't think Levy ever trusted Harry or any of his "targets" IMO Harry was only ever meant to be a stop gap to get us out of the shitty situation we found ourselves in and he performed better than expected. I think with AVB and now the hiring of Baldini we will see the chequek book opened again, we have in the past and I am confident we will have at least one new striker on our books hopefully before the season kicks off.

Again, the camp transfer guy on SSN mentioned that he believes that Ade isn't going to be sold, and thinks there's nothing in that story. He (and another guy who was doing the transfer stuff yesterday) claimed there was genuine interest in Chadli. That said, I assume you're actually referring to ITK on those things, rather than press etc?
