Ah, ITK from BEN. That means - The next three hours conversation in this thread:

*Tree jokes
*"He actually has some good contacts now"
*More tree jokes
*Jokes about BEN's spelling
*"Hang on, is this Ben or BEN?"
*More tree jokes
*"Is there really two? I thought that was a myth?"
*More tree jokes
*Argument about whether it's BEN or Ben that's on FTL and vice versa for COYS
*More tree jokes
*More jokes about BEN's spelling
*The same tree jokes we started off with
*One lone poster actually discussing the ITK rather than BEN himself
*All the tree jokes in the history of the world
*Me breaking down in tears

Just in case any of you were wondering.

Ben hasn't clarified on FTL yet whether that is opinion or ITK. FWIW Ben has turned into a doom and gloom merchant in recent months/years, and it's not clear whether this is just Ben being Ben or if he has heard something. I wouldn't have it in the RO until we know.

Since Spurs left Chigwell?

For me the transfer should be a formality for a Club our size, with the aspirations the Chairman, Board and new Coach has. For such an important position as the CB role is, if the Club are dithering about spending another million or two it really is showing a lack of commitment.

Last season Levy threw thirty million at a player in a position where we had cover, be it planning for the future or present. This off season it appears that Poch wants Dawson out, Kaboul has never played a full season (or even half a one) since he has returned and the one true CB that we have is yet to start a game and sign a supposed new contract. And yet the Club according to the latest ITK are trying to squeeze the last drop out of a deal to fill a position that is imperative.

Oh, for those heady days when Levy would spend fifteen million on this player here, or thirty million on that player there without batting an eyelid. The aberration of a deadline day signing of a Nelsen or Saha are already giving me nightmares.

So, if MM doesn't actually happen, is it really the end of the world?

By the looks of things we are still going to have Dawson sat around.

But then the other CB's

Kaboul - if he can get to the form before injury, then a very, very good player.
Verts - Doesn't need talking about how good he is.
Chiriches - probably has something to prove, certainly more capable than Dawson.
Dier - New, young, upcoming - could do with experience.

Whilst I've always maintained that our defense needs working on, bringing in a LB has been solid, but I'd be reasonably happy if we are left with what we have got - maybe Poch can actually coach then and do some wonders much like hi has done with his previous bunch.

So, related to the latest ITK, it doesn't leave me feeling down, gutted or anything else other than still being excited about the football starting this weekend!

Swings and roundabouts. A lot will 'be done' or 'no chance' in the next few weeks. If suspect the club has out a lot of work into MM deal and can still see them pushing it through eventually.
This...iirc when we bought JV it was on and off a few times.

I'm going to be a little salty if Dawson digging his heels in meant no Musacchio. I doubt it l boils down to that, but I think I'd likely tell myself it is the main reason.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Merely saying that there is obviously not one set way this things go. Just because one deal took this turn and that, doesn't mean the turns are applicable to every rumour out there.

JJ alluded to this as the problem. So frustrating if true. It doesn't do anyone any good, even Daws because he probably won't play anyway with Dier now at the club.

Just go Daws please and the fans will have much more respect for you.

We are all in the dark. It could easily pop up on the OS that MM is a spurs player in the next hour or so or we might never hear of him again. It's the same with Verts new contract, I'm sure that could be done as well but there may be a million reasons it's not been announced either.

Media appeared to be getting briefed that we were confident of sealing the Musacchio deal last week. Hopefully's BEN's post is just an opinion based a perceived delay.
