I know no-one can confirm anything, but I'm assuming Trix saying that we are in talks in Italy does not necessarily mean that the player Herc is talking about is from Serie A.
No, I think it does mean that.
Our level is a bit higher than Serie B imo

I don't think there are too many players that can play equally as well in both the midfield and forward line. I don't think it would be Paqueta as Herc doesn't want to mention names and Paqueta has a bloody thread (although there does seem to be a few clubs looking at him). SMS is too expensive for anyone and is someone you build around. Ruiz again seems like a good fit for a 352 but not really someone I could see slotting in to the front three.

In summary. I have no clue.
why would we be having discussions in italy if the player wasn't playing in serie a?

Yeah I agree that it's most likely not Paqueta. I do think that Trix and Herc are probably speaking about the same player though. Herc's info also indicates that it would be someone that all of us would be very happy with. Which implies to me that it's someone who's a legit big name.

EDIT - Deleted my name-throwing-out.

No point in doing guessing - we did Lenglet loan - so should be having more than enough in kitty to go big (if required). Lets wait & see what FP does

Purely based on FIFA ratings but Serie A CAMs would be SMS, Pellegrini, Ruiz, Zielinski, Calhanoglu that have all been mentioned before, as well as Luis Alberto and Brahim Diaz. For me the only one of those that would be above Maddison on the list would be SMS.
FIFA ratings and throwing out names will not work here btw.

Still looking for that last centre back. Could also be one of the backup options in case the first choice doesn't come off.

100% this.

It means nothing more and nothing less.

I’m almost lost for words that someone is reading something in to it as if it’s some sort of criptic. ???
FFS!

I’m lost for words that you read into my post anything of the sort!

It was just an observation about what I assumed to be a deliberate choice of words (although, granted, that is a dangerous assumption when discussing Herc!). I was merely curious as to why we wouldn’t all be happy with the signing. (y)

Cannot say too much, but a very good attacking player that plays anywhere from midfield onwards, is in talks. If it happens would make most of us happy. This will not happen overnight, but aiming to agree all with selling club, who wants to line up replacement. Other clubs interested. But we are at the front. No names ??
After reading this I think I’m pregnant.
