If the rumoured amount of signings and sales still to be done are true I am going to try and keep my expectations for the first three/four games to a minimum. It's going to take some time to gel and get the squad ticking, we saw that from the espanyol game. The massive overhaul we have already done is going to take time let alone the potential of another 3/4 signings. This doesn't bother me at all tho, the quality of players we have bought and are still looking to buy is a massive step for the club and I really hope fans remember this even if in our first few games, including against the Arss, we look lacklustre and confused. It will click eventually and when it does I am sure there will be a massive shortage of Kleenex as a result.

I'm very tempted to cash my Bale bet out tonight. Will have made a decent amount - just find it difficult to comprehend as well, although it would be insane if we kept Bale and got this guy.

Here's to hoping the strategy is to spend now and go for it with Bale in the side with a view to selling him next summer.
How much if you cash out now? I'd do it, even after all this time still think Bale is 50/50!

With the ITK about Uncle Joe pushing the boat out

Does this mean we are now a Sugar Daddy club?

Weirdly it looks like we could be a sugar daddy for one transfer window and then it will be back to balancing the books

Very unique situation, very Spurs!

If all this comes off this summer no one better complain for a long time about our spending habits. What a window it's been so far.

One failure in the midst of a very successful, albeit somewhat brief career, is not a trend. A trend denotes more than one occurrence so you can begin to see a pattern develop.

There's the fact you were searching for.

I find it very hard to believe we would buy Lamela if we are keeping Bale.

I'm not sure if it will make that much difference if im honest. Lamela would be a good move regardless, with his potential, this summer will be the cheapest we could get him for. We've pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that Bale's only going to give us one more year, having Lamela now would give him a seasons worth of experience to replace bale.

Just caught up.

Lamela and Bale could easily work. Switching positions from the left and right seamlessly and really causing a ton of headaches for defenders. You could even make an argument for the 4-2-3-1 with Bale, Lamela and Chadli in the '3' switching positions as all know how to play through the middle/in the hole.

They were offering me 218 quid an hour ago (bet is 100 by the way, at nearly 6-1), but they must be taking into account the latest info/news tonight because the in play cash offer is unavailable at the moment. If they offer me 300 I'm taking it lol

Has there been any ITK across the summer on any LB other than Coentrao? Seems odd that there's a lot of talk of Benny basically being out the door and not many replacements touted around. Though I'm really not sure who we would be linked to/inquire about. Not many quality LBs that would also come to us.

Having a lot of money available would make Baldini make more sense - hardly going to take the job if he knew he'd be working with pittance.

It's all falling into place.

That would be amazing.......

Just had an exciting day, digging a hole in the beach, big enough to bury jd and azza in... Finally caught up on the ITK, with all these snippets about lamela and Capone (excuse spelling) being done.

I'm excited about the new season, but have a little bit of dread, on how quickly all these new faces will fit into the team and the EPL

Could take us a few games for the team to get used to each other, and worried how points would have been dropped by then.

Once we are over the honey moon period, it will be exciting times, and can push on for some success, which has been long overdue

Ps excuse the grammar, its late and I'm posting on my phone...

It's an exceptional problem to have. Considering our lack of creativity in the centre mid roles I'd imagine we'd continue with the 4-2-3-1 of last year, with a dynamic 3 man attacking mid behind a striker akin to what Chelsea did last year. When we need some grit we switch to the 4-3-3 with the big hitters packing the midfield. AVB loves thems kinda dimensions!
