Willian in January sounds like a very expensive deal to me. Weren't they looking at 20m+ in the Summer? Plus they are still in the Champions League.

Sounds very unlikely to me.

Hasn't returned back from the pre-winter break. An unhappy player may be able to force a move at a lower price. Whether or not that lower price is one that Levy will be prepared to pay is another matter, however.

Is that just league goals? I only ask because before this season, Defoe had only scored 15 goals in his previous 47 matches.. That added to this season puts him on 25 goals in his last 69 games. Is Defoe shit too?

How about Adebayor? 25 goals in his last 68 matches. Is Adebayor shit too?

What kind of service is this Szalai fella getting? Is his team creating the 30+ chances per game that we created against Villa & Reading etc? Is he getting the same sort of quality service that Lennon & Bale provide on a weekly basis?

I think it's far too easy to say a player is shit, just because his stats don't suit your personal taste.

By the way, there's this one player I really like. Between 2003 & 2007 he scored 13 goals in 100 appearances. Then between 2008 & 2011 he scored 15 goals in 103 matches. So that's a pathetic 28 goals in 203 matches but I'd be mad to want him because, based upon what you use to judge a player, he's shit!! Fair comment?

By the way, that player is called Michu.. Get my point mate?

man, for someone who want to eat shit, you make alot of sense ;)

You never know, as others as said he hasnt returned to the team and didnt Shaktar just sign that fella Taison? He is Willian's likely replacement.

Indeed. It's crap and lame but we'll all happily live with it I guess. Better to have had Mod for 4 seasons than not.

The bastard. :shifty:

More to the point, I want the likes of Berbatov and Modric acting like a **** to get to us, rather than to leave in the future. If it is true Willian has gone AWOL to engineer a move to us, then it is a big leap forward from Pamarot.

Shakhtar really don't need the money, pretty sure they could let him rot in the reserves if they wanted to. (Their owner has a stupid amount of money)

As much as World football could do with clubs wrenching back some power from the players by doing this. They simply won't as he is an asset who is constantly depreciating in value as he is sitting in the reserves.

Well yes, there is that in fact. Good point me old china. Right now it feels as we're almost suffering the negatives of being a top4/5 club only wrt transfer windows with other chairmen and clubs seemingly of the onion (sic) we have more money than we do or that DL is willing to overspend on players, as they often do themselves.

The least we can hope for is a couple of players to throw a wobbly in order to get a move to us to balance things out a bit. We kind of saw that with Verts. Not with him being a prick but telling Ajax in no uncertain terms that it was THFC and only THFC for him. Coupled with his contract situation, it made the financials more favourable for us than they otherwise might have been.

Agree, hopefully they will feel an unhappy player causing trouble in the camp is the last thing they need before a massive tie against Dortmund though.

Re Willian what i said previous - of course there is interest there but as things stand impossible deal - 30m upfront maybe things have changed? Don't know will ask! Unlikely though from what was told

Holtby too appears to have said he only wanted to come to us
