Henry was a winger when Arsenal bought him. He was also only 22 and had bags of pace. Wenger made him the player he became by converting him into a striker.

Modric was 23, and initially played in a deeper role to the one that made him the player he now is.

Drogba scored 16 in 41 in each of his first 2 seasons. 11 in 36 for Soldado is relatively comparitive in these circumstances, except Drogba was a couple of years younger and adapted the way he played.

Soldado is a striker and has always been one, and at his age that's not going to change.
I think he deserves at least a 2nd season, but please, let's not try and compare him to Henry or Drogba.

Completely off topic but does anyone else think that this 'special relationship' we've forged with Real Madrid equates to us selling our best players to them and in exchange they sell their world class players to the Scum?

Does that mean that indirectly, Spurs is funded by Arsenal?

If Soldado stays I'll back him to the hills. But these examples are way off & irrelevant. Bobby is 29 years old and a finished product. The players you've listed were much much younger, still developing and finding their way.

That's a positive spin on an otherwise depressing scenario if Khadiera signs for them. An infinitely more pleasant outcome would be that he performs as shit as Ozil did last term!

I know this int the normal content to place here (ie not transfer related) but am trying to drive awareness for a good friend of mine who is going through a terrible time..... 29 years young and diagnosed with terminal cancer.... He has been given a matter of months to live and we as his friends are trying to raise as much as possible for him to complete his bucket list and donate to the charity of is choice....

What Drogba did is irrelevant to what Soldado has done and will do. Different players. Different circumstances.

I am not one for prayers but if there is a Supreme Being out there............ please,please look down on any Spanish clubs that are in need of a striker and help them finance a move for Roberto Soldado that will satisfy Daniel Levy.
