Re Bale - personally I think the deal suggested in today's papers is the maximum doable deal for us. I'm not sure if another club will go for his full wages however, and Madrid seem dead set on moving him out. Utd and the Milan clubs maybe. RM could get desperate and lower their demands to a level Levy would be interested in, I think he'll be keeping tabs on it for sure.

bale will always be a last minute vdv type deal if no-one else picks him up as rm will get increasingly desperate to get rid. his wages are just obscene so if he wants to play but won't budge on wages, then let him rot where he is. sanchez is another prime example of this, you need to pay ridiculous wages to get the top players but once you don't want them any more and the contract has time to run, you're screwed.

In the end it will be Bales choice where he goes as he holds all the aces financially. If RM do not move him on it will reduce the quality of what comes in.

Bale
His wages are ridiculous. RM would do a lower loan deal with anybody, even less than the 10m loan fee mentioned in the press, but the club that takes him would have to cover his wages. Inclusive of all the add-ons, incentives etc, you are looking at paying out circa 3m (give or take) per month. So my opinion is no chance.

If this is the case, then he can stay in Madrid.

A wee bit of info with Sess. We would ideally like to do a package deal that includes his twin Steven. I am told Steven is keen, but Fulham are not. Expect Sess to be wrapped up though. Not putting no timeline on it. N’Dombele, we have a chance is all I can say. Anything else I add to that would be my own opinion. Noises are we have a substantial kitty, and DL was fully aware of what Poch he was going to say. My opinion on that is to force father Joe Lewis.

yeah was thinking that the club had OK'd some of his messages as it deflects all attention from the squad. Both from an injury perspectuive (Kane and Co) and contracts perspective (Toby and C.E). He's being a media shield so the team can prep while on Pool's side they continue the love-in

Cheers HercyClaus.

Ah - re Joe Lewis. A few of my peers met his old FX Broker, who's now head of FX at Guvnor. They're not close anymore but didn't realise Joe has 1bn worth of art! And the old git owns the ranging bull statue on wall st! minted innit

As a player, Bale would be incredible for us. Imagine having him in the big games against the top team.

But if his wages were to fuck up the team spirit and cohesion that has been built, then I am sorry, a no from me.

Sess and ndombele would be excellent addition.
We need a right back and another midfielder with a young attacker
I would rather isco than bale base on wages and all...

Herc’s info about Bale slightly contradicts that in the news earlier which said RM would need to pick up at least half of his wages. I wonder which (if any) of these stories is the more recent angle?

Bale has to decide whether he wants to prioritise money or playing football. Nobody is stupid enough to pick up his wages (not even United, although Woodward might work his magic) and Zidane clearly has no interest in keeping him. If what his agent was saying the other day is really the case then he'll make a ton of money but ultimately not reached the heights he could've done.

I know it's not either or but if it would come down to say signing Sessegnon + Grealish or signing Bale. I'd go for the first option. When we have done all the transfer business we want to do and Bale is offered to us. Well, then it would be icing on the cake but I wouldn't want us chasing a Bale loan-deal all the window.

This doesn’t surprise me. Heard similar last summer.

With sess and ndombele and others mentioning Grealish, it seems that our targets have not changed.

Interesting that Herc referred to the noises about us having a kitty as after the most brilliant most fantasticist ever champions league semi final on Wednesday Gary Lineker Rio Ferdinand and Glenn Hoddle were discussing where we go from here and will we buy players and Glenn said the club has money to spend Lineker said something like "we hope" and as Rio started talking over them Glenn mouthed to Lineker "we have I know, yes I know"
along with Hercules' latest I'm taking that as solid ITK.
