even if we were willing to pay what they wanted i don't think he would come. he can play as a winger but his main position is striker isn't it? I don't think he (or anybody else for that matter) wants to compete with Kane. Plus he's german - they usually stay in the bundesliga.
I'd love it if someone actually wanted to compete with Kane. Hopefully Werner is that (Ger)man.

Problem is he is also a major target for Liverpool, Bayern and every other good team that needs a Striker. Would have to blow those lot away in fee and wages

It's the agent fees I worry more about in deals like this. I think we would match the contract most likely. It comes down to how determined Levy is to get him.

No chance on levy spending 40 m on a striker that from March will be spending 70 % of the time on the bench.

Really can’t see this coming off and if Werner is available ready made for a team like Chelsea to steel him
There will be plenty of game time for him because we play in 4 competitions, Llorente will be sold and he can also play on the left and right too i'd have thought. We could easily play Kane with him, he's not a big target man.

Every player in the world is a target for Liverpool, so doesn't make any difference.

Maybe this series of events ends up being the push DL needs to pay agent fees. Then that first time opens the flood gates!:wtf:

Exactly, Werner very rarely plays as the main number 9 and usually starts alongside, or just behind poulsen who's their primary striker. Werner will get plenty of game time and has experience playing with a more traditional number 9. This is a very clever move for a team in our situation.

Is he any good? I havent seen much and youtube is one thing but actually watching whole games is another.

I saw him at the world cup and well... he was pretty shocking, then again the entire German team was shocking.

I don't see any issue with him and Harry playing in the same team. Harry is quite happy to drop deep and play provider whilst still able to score plenty of goals. Not sure many defences would fancy playing these two together.

This is the ITK i like! When we get given names! Would love this to happen!

I like it as well but the downside is that its gonna get even more annoying when he ends up at Chelsea, Bayern or Liverpool :ROFLMAO:

Werner would be amazing, he could play with either Kane or Son or alone, and play off the wing. But this would only make sense if Llorente went at the same time and we gave him the number 18 so that we could have England’s best forward with ten, Germany’s at 18 and an Argentinian in charge just like in 1994/95.

Any Romanian wingers who like prostitutea currently knocking about?

Leipzig chairman said that Werner will be sold in the summer at the latest if he doesn't sign a new contract before then.

Yes he is, but he's still learning and can lack consistency. He is in no way the finished article, but he has all the tools to become an exceptional player. He will need time, but he is already good enough to do a job for us. He's not a tricky player but his pace means he can beat players with ease. He's deadly on the counter. Ultimately I see him being primarily a number 9 but for now he plays as a SS and he can also play LW.
