We should have improved the squad in summer, agree. But not sure we can put a tag poor management, when whats undoing us is injuries in one section of the squad (5 out of 6 CM injured) and losing Kane when Son goes on national duty.

Pochettino might hate him but I believe there are many Spurs fans who felt he was very harshly done by and wasn't given a fair go. Anyway, there's no way he's ever going to play for us again, even though technically he's still one of our players. I don't believe he even has a squad number any more.

It sounds like Werner could be more of a long term target for the summer who we might try to push for now, but that we're covering all bases by looking for a loan player coming in if needed. Either way it sounds like we're hoping to have an extra forward here in the next couple of weeks.

2 of those CMs who are injured we knew were crocked from the summer (Dembele, Wanyama). Nobody could foresee Dier's injury but arguably by having so few choices in CM it has led to over playing Sissoko and contributed to his injury, so yes that is poor management as there was a high degree of predictability that we would have issues in CM.
