Things seem to be going from bad to worse on the ITK front when we had some random bumping into Levy, (as you do) and another cosy little cryptic on top of more Modric leaving rumours which prompted much wailing and gnashing of teeth. From adults

Yesterday, the wife said to me that I remind her of a chicken curry, I said "why, because i'm hot?" She said yes.

Cue the angst. Seriously, it's like because a bid went in, immediately, we're selling. There was always going to be a bid, more than likely there will be more bids.

Kevin Nolan is having a medical at West Ham. Presumably he's getting his head examined.

SSN are reporting that Tottenham have rejected a £22m bid from London rivals Chelsea for Croat midfielder Luka Modric

Metro are saying Tottenham have been told to pay £18m if they want to secure the services of midfielder Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid.

And Talksport report that Swansea have won the race to sign 19-year-old Tottenham defender Steven Caulker on loan next for season.

Diarra is an upgrade on Jenas, but he's hardly been the missing piece anywhere else. Just prefer we go a different way.

I have decided that I only believe ITK relating to us buying strikers, the rest is made up.

There we go life much easier as all im waiting for is a nice world class goalscoring machine while you lot are stressing over Modric, Parker, Marin, Rodwell etc etc

Interestingly after cleaning up the twitter tattle thread (...again), I found the tweet about us being reluctant to sell Gomes to PSV and them giving up.

Past wrongs (yes plenty)...forgiven in songs (well 'Tears of a Clown' is quite a tune) alas (our keeper next season will still be) Blue and Yellow.

Also interestingly that is the 1000th (and clearly accurate) guess at the POTL cryptic and being the 1000th lucky customer I also get to outlaw cryptics...maybe.

The focus of our transfer business should be solely focused on upgrading our strikers! Any bolstering of the midfield or the back-line should come after we have used what limited resources (presumably) we have to add that high-level goal scorer that will catapult us right into contention for a top 4 place.

My biggest fear is we will continue to waste time, and potentially money, on players in positions where we have quality and depth, before addressing our most critical need. I see no reason why we would spend 10-15 million pounds on players like Rodwell, Roger Johnson, and Shawcross, when we are struggling to meet valuations for various strikers we are interested in. Wouldn't it be better to pay over the odds for Falcao (25 million) and Gervinho (15 million), than spending slightly less on significantly less proven English players in positions of less need?

Maybe I'm simply assuming we have less money to splash around than we actually do. Maybe Levy has realized that nothing short of a 60 million pound investment this summer can see Tottenham ascend into the top 4.

I certainly hope that's the case.

Not interested in diarra now we have sandro unless we can get him for the same amount as Parker.

Would like leandro to sign just to get a striker in and then we can work on Rossi/ drogba/ llorente/ god.

With the modric bid coming in early it's going to be A nervy few months but hopefully we will hold on.
