I said to Mrs A&C last night "I've just heard the cat meow downstairs, that means it's time you trimmed your bush."

"How on earth are those two connected?" she asked

Yesterday we had another snippet from The Goat who brought news on Defoe and the Stadium.​

This is coming from a new source, The Goat is hearing that Defoe is done and signed for 13 million dollars and he will be earning 110,000 dollars a week. Only thing yet to be decided is January or summer.

Also, the only hold up with the stadium is a Greek family owning a house where the centre circle of the new pitch will be. They want 5 million 'innit? O Kyrios Levy having raises our original offerings of 1.5 to 2 and a black dress, size 24.

But no new signings ITK or even new manager ITK But then again, we're not right into it yet, IIRC the Transfer Window rumourfest usually takes off good and proper in a week or two.

Meanwhile, the talk on SC has shifted from AVB leaving to the part Levy has played and why people don't like Sherwood (out). Cracking stuff in Spurs Chat!

£10mill for Defoe would be an amazing piece of business due to fact he's 31 and hasn't progressed at all in recent years.

even though he's been a great servant for us I almost feel we can never move on in the striking department whilst defoe is still an option so if he goes for decent money (£8m-ish?) and it's a good move for him and us then so be it. Be interesting to see who plays up front tonight if it's already supposedly a done deal....

Odd to have decided that unless there's other strikers quite far down the pipeline though.

Seriously what real tangible benefit does he bring. He is past his best now and likely will lose his burst of speed shortly. Honestly there is nothing Defoe does that Soldado can't do.

Good point. Strange to be agreeing these deals without a manager in place, although I suppose if Baldini is running the show transfer wise then it doesn't matter.

Whether that's a good thing or not is another question.

How many transfers had we lined up or had already signed before we got AVB?

Dont think it will matter too much, we have Baldini there to bring in the players and the manager will have to get the best out of them.
But you would hope who ever the manager was gets some say.


With Defoe, are we wanting to hold off till the summer and they want him over to settle?
For me it depends on whats happening with Ade. Is he going to get another chance... or are we trying to get rid of him as well.

On a completely different level to Defoe, but with all the atrophied & unused attacking potential in our side, Ade may not get a look in, even with a new manager ...
