at a macro level you're right but we gave up crucial goals late in games and consequently dropped quite a few points from winning positions. Romero should be a step better than an aging Toby. If Nuno thinks Japhet and Sanchez can step up, then i'd give them until January to prove or disprove. (Thanks once again to Herc)

It's the same for other teams too though. Anyway it does my head in when people hammer the point about our defence being weak when our setup was to protect a lead vs actually attacking and getting more goals.

But this isn't the thread for that. So let's not get ourselves banned.

we finished 7th and had the 5th best defence.
We conceded 1 more than united & 3 more than Liverpool
Conceded 5 & 3 less than Leicester & West Ham who finished above us.

How did our defence let us down.
I think it was fitness thst let us down.
We dropped more points than any other team from winning positions almost the opposite of Poch.

What's triggered today's collective mini-meltdown?

Is it the idea that Kane isn't leaving?
Seems to be that we haven't broken our transfer record for a back up striker to replace Vini, if he is.

just read the transfer ticker report where supposedly Bayern offered to take Ndombele off our hands in exchange for Toliss and 20m. staggered we got such a good offer. Anti-climax, we’re not up for it.

it makes no sense. They’ve been wanting Sabitzer, who clearly wants them, with Leipzig happy to sell as his contract’s almost up, for weeks now. But they can’t even afford his reduced fee of 17 mill. And now they’re choosing Ndombele over him? Unless they’ve managed to line up numerous sales I suppose but it’s hard to see

Also… if we intend to play left footers on the left and right on the right, we will end up with one of the lowest goals for totals in the league. It’s not the fucking fifties.

One thing I will say is that it’s going to be an exciting last week before the window shuts… regardless of how folk are feeling right here & now after Hercs update… and I feel no way should we be doing a deal for a £80-90million Vlahovic..

I wouldn't worry, we don't have the money

Kane has fully shagged us, wiped his cock on the curtains and put a smoke out on the sofa. Was going to move in with the hot neighbor across the road. She however has been a total banger and having it away with half the street. She’s spurned H and now he’s sitting on the curb wondering what to do.

joking aside. We criticize clubs for wanting to extract top dollar for there assets, yet when we do the same it’s ok? Hmm.

to be fair, we are being quoted 90 mill for a striker with one good/ok season in serie A with 2 years left ,and we are holding out for top dollar for a proven top goalscorer in the PL with 4 golden boots and is the poster boy of three lions. it is not comparable

Not just talking about Kane. Levy rightly wants to extract max price. When other clubs try and hold us to ransom people have a fit.

We were also told Martinez/vlahovic weren't dependant on kane leaving, look how that one turned out.
It hasn't actually "turned out" yet. Why don't we wait until the end of the transfer window before we have a meltdown. I'm sure there's going to be some mad panicking by the Italian and French clubs in the next 11 days.

Seems we are playing smart for once, it was always going to take more than a couple of transfer windows to fix the rot in the club. Not sure why people expect us to play in the same league as Chelsea/City, etc, when it comes to transfer. We have never done that, because we can't afford to. Heck, even when we do, we end up with Ndombele. :ROFLMAO:

It’s always the same each transfer window. Fans build themselves up in a frenzy by believing every bit of ITK and journalist tweets they read. And then convince themselves if we don’t sign player X Y Z that we’re gonna have the worst season in our entire history. When in fact it NEVER ever is the case.

Yeah but it's that we have been constantly told things such as....

"Good news coming", "we have money to spend", "ins not reliant on outs", "5/6 ins", "bargains to be had", "we will still sign players if we don't sell Kane" etc...

Ali g, came out at the start of the window and said that we have to shift players to buy. I think if we weren't fed all this stuff through the window most (normal) fans would have expected this and tempered their expectations.

We knew it was going to be difficult to shift players and we knew we weren't as an attractive proposition as we were.

Early on, Fabio did well, and I don't doubt that he is good at his job, but we can't ship the overpaid players. Just annoys me all the 'positivity'.
