He may not have been what we want but how do you know that he is a nasty smell in the dressing room? By all accounts, including ITK and official training photos etc, he is training with the first team, is popular with the other players, always laughing and so on.

He wants to move, nuno has decided not to play him, not sure it's any more than that.

One of our ITK's has just told us he cant be bothered to motivate himself and he wants out. You'll have to forgive me for not remembering which ITK though, but it might have been Trix (if it wasn't, my apologies).

I wouldn't have said what I did if the post I read hadn't disgusted me, I swear to you.

Edit: Apologies, it was Dragon, not trix.

You need to check the missing members thread- a real eye opener
Turns out he was an old member pretending to be something he wasn't and got banned.
It's a real interesting read in that thread tho

Damn I was in the dark on this one. Truly looked like a nice guy on the face of it......lol. I thought @coopsieyid was over the top in a post of his the other day....he appeared to he spot on on that score.

I suspect Tanguy falls into that category of footballer that doesnt really like football - his main motivations and ambitions have been to build a better life for himself and his family - now he has achieved that there is no ambition left
That's all of them these days.
Most are not even footballers - they are primarily athletes, and are here for the ridiculous money.
But they will run the best of proper footballers into the ground.

Arguably, Ndom is a proper footballer - he wants to entertain and show his skill on the ball. But he doesn't stand a chance with the way the game is today. It can't be much fun.

Can't be bothered is one thing, a nasty smell implies something else.

But fair enough, all opinions are welcome.

I dont agree. The sacrifices that they have to make from a ridiculously young age are huge. When you're training on a Wednesday evening at the age of 10, the big money is a long way off.

99% love football and would be playing for free.

The realities of professional football are very different. You get injured, fall out of favour, new manager, miss your family/country/culture. There are a million reasons why players lose motivation. They then stay at a club because they're comfortable. Happy to train and have a laugh with their mates, sit on the bench and collect their wages. You see it all the time.

I personally hated training, now I'm 47 and love it!

But when I was 16 and could have had a trial easily due to my cousin being a pro, I just didn't want to put the effort in.

He doesn't appear to be physically unfit, nor causing a fuss in training. He's in all the SpursTV stuff and looks happy and well.

I assume he's got the same moans that Bale had in the first start of the season. People blamed Jose for that, but it's probably not a coincidence that Gaz suddenly became fully available in the run up to the Euros, and not before (when the risks were higher).

Possible Tanguy has Benny Syndrome, and isn't particularly passionate about playing
Benny from crossroads? It’s the hat isn’t it?

Just as a general point , while aware this window could go either way I have to say I'm really pleased that we've seemingly gone back to bringing in top young players in Gil, Sarr and with rumours of Moriba etc.

I think it's a huge part of what got us dining at the top table with the elite in the first place.

Also I believe we really have the pull to get them in ahead of anyone else. The top 4 are looking for the stars, Varane, Lukaku etc. Effectively we'd be competing with Leicester and maybe Arsenal (many would stay clear of them right now)

With the Training facilities etc and destination London potentially giving us the edge. Feel like this is the way to the top

The principle is not sound, in any other endeavour a contract is a contract. If the principle were sound it would go the other way too and a player out-performing a deal should also have the right to void his contract to get a better one. The fact that the NFL has gotten away with non-guaranteed contracts well into the 21st century is a joke. So totally weighted in favour of the billionaires who own the teams. Injured? Out of luck son, you’re cut.
Got to say I agree with you wholeheartedly. Guess the frustration of the situation had b me musing on solutions. I suppose one solution is to sign players on a low basic wage to train then add bonuses fir making the match day squad, the team, goals scored, clean sheets wins etc.
To be honest I was shocked that he was pt on the same wage as Kane. Nothing from his career to that date suggested he deserved to be our top earner- more than say Son or Lloris. For such a hard nosed businessman and negotiater Levy has some strange brain farts. Sissoko for 30M was another odd one.

Jokes aside, I very much doubt Fab will disrespect his former club Juve with a shit offer. What Romano said too which I found slightly interesting on his Twitch/live with a youtube account the other day was that apparently, DoF's, when they move club they prefer not to deal with their former club at least immediately to avoid the impression that they cannot deal elsewhere. Obviously that doesn't mean we won't deal with Juve, but found it interesting nevertheless. Think we can get McKennie done if we really want him personally. Suspect Juve relations are good too with the obvious link with Fab and involvement in the Romero transfer via Demiral
I suspect it’s also seen as a bit unprofessional as you have knowledge of the contract details of the previous club’s players. You’re not supposed to take confidential information with you when you leave your job for a competitor (not saying people don’t in practice!) but lots of information on contracts will be in his head so not very gentlemen-like conduct to come back to your old club.

Of course, I wasn't being literal when I used the phrase 'nasty smell' but that's exactly what I reckon the effect must be of his stinking attitude amongst the other squad members. There must be a good reason why Nuno won't play him and I think I know what it is, especially from Dragon's earlier post.
