We've heard that there are offers for Lennon from two Turkish clubs. Everton have been stalling but West Ham are now firmly interested.
I guess we're not accepting the offers because we want to include him in a deal for McCarthy....?

Continuing to be treated like the club golden retriever. If we keep Soldado whilst offloading all the other unsuitable players it's absurd enough, if he's our back up ST it could be disastrous.
Could not care less about his social standing in the group, feels like we're thinking of keeping him cos he friends with Lamela and it might make him sad. I'm sure you can find someone to go for dinners with him whilst being utterly woeful on the pitch for 70k a week.
He's a millionaire striker who doesn't score, he's been a disaster signing and I am praying he goes this summer with an actual useful alternative to Kane coming in. Cos currently if Kane gets injured we're screwed.

Regardless of what happens with McCarthy, my bet is Everton will sell Mirrallas to West Ham and then they'll come in for Lennon.

Here you go. Another summer pledge for me I bet soldado out scores adebayor if he leaves and bobby stays. Bet to SC if I lose goes £50! Lennon go to anyone but spam wouldn't sell them anything.

I like this.

"Oh who's a good boy? Is Bobby a good boy...oh yes you are"

"Oh Bobby....did you shit in Grandma's shoe? Oh well nevermind because look how fluffy you are!!!!"

Gaz, who are we going to get that is a better player or a better fit for our team?

Everything we hear about him is positive. The squad loves him. He has the very best experience in the game. Friedel and everyone else says he has all the tools, all the football intelligence, all the work ethic needed to succeed, but inexplicably hasn't. He doesn't demand playing time that we know of and he has supported Kane's meteoric ascent to the hilt, FFS

We all but know now he didn't cost the full 26m and his wages aren't all that high either. Roberto Soldado is way down on the pecking order of players we ought to be selling.

I would find it incredible to believe if Poch, Baldini, Mitchell and Levy could not scour the World and find a likable, lovable, striker that could score more than seven goals in fifty one games.

Honest.

Soldado is like the 20 year of family dog, shitting everywhere. But you haven't got the heart to have him put down.

I feel like something should go into the pot either way here...

Agreed, the standard of the 2nd division is woeful compared to South of the border.

However, as someone who has regularly attended matches in this division, I'll tell you that its no walk in the park. When teams play Rangers it's a special occasion and can be a real battle. As has been the case for the past 3 years, there's no easy games for them.

Add to that, Rangers are a huge club with massive expectations next year, so don't think he won't learn anything if he goes there.

He's been playing in the championship for the last year and doing well.
He's in the last year of his contract so either need to sell or give a reason to stay. Scotish division 2 is not it.

That's why if we bring in someone like Cambiasso on a free transfer it would allow the likes of Bentaleb, Mason, Alli, (Rabiot) to learn from the best. We're crying out for an experienced player in the middle. Someone who can sit there and guide players through the game.

Or Thiago Motta as part of the Stambouli deal....

who are we going to get that is a better player or a better fit for our team?

Anyone, literally anyone, who possesses even one of the following:

- can score a goal
- pace
- can score a goal
- strength
- can score a goal
- heads a ball well
- can score a goal
- runs around a bit
- can score a...

Just one of those qualities would be an immediate upgrade.

And we will when Adebayor leaves. Soldado leaving is not for this window.

Couldn't agree more. If Soldado plays any minutes in the premiership for us next season somewhere in our recruitment process there's been a giant fuck up.

Starting to feel Ade going so soon is not what we expected to happen, and may alter the plan.
I wouldn't be stunned to see Ade, Lennon, Chiriches and Frederiks the last outgoings.
A DM/CM, potentially a Motta/Cambiasso type signing for twelve months to help mentor our young midfield options without clogging up their path long term, and a Berahino type WF/CF bought in, and Soldado and Townsend to stay. Soldado, whilst it hasn't worked for him yet, does bring experience to the party, and as a strongly rumoured 'model pro' could help our young CF's.

Soldado can get plently of UEFA cup minutes if there's no one else, the competition could suit him and it got Kane off to a good start.
