I'm afraid it will be even worse than waiting for the end of the Confederations Cup. When it's over the players from the tournament will all head off on holiday, having not had a break in May. This happens after all the summer tournaments.
The players will be but their agents will be busy as f***

the itk sections should only be opened on the last day of the transfer window

Thanks A&C

why not just visit here on the last 2 days of the window. That way we can all enjoy it here and we (YOU) wont waste your time. Its really easy - just dont clicky clicky.

Well, if the Confederations Cup gets cancelled we could see some earlier movement. To Health and Education ! Take to the streets and cause mayhem !

It'll be ages - but so what? This quite sad almost physical need some people have for us to sign someone, anyone, is just weird and embarrassing.

Sure it's nice to have players in for pre-season but the point is that's not started yet, everyone is still on holiday and will be for a while yet.

I see people on Facebook groups slating Levy etc with the usual 'get your wallet out stingy Levy' bullshit and it drives me mad.

I'm not saying I want to Levy-it-up-to-the-max at 11pm on deadline day, I just don't see why we have people getting depressed or worried that we're somehow going to miss out if we don't sign everyone we want tomorrow. The transfer window opens on the 1st July and most transfers won't be done until after that date as player contracts usually expire/tick over on 30th June.

Add to that the Confed Cup and the fact that many players aren't even going to be available at the moment.

It'd be nice if people stopped wringing their hands or preparing to throw themselves off tower blocks just because we haven't signed anyone ridiculously early that's all.

i think you will find the frustration is because the homework on the players we have targetted should have been done after January, and continued up untill this point with a view to getting players in early! i have read and heard people talking about we will not be making the same mistake as previous windows and leaving it late, also AVB wants new additions in place for pre season so we dont get of to a slow start yet again!

Yes its still early, but you cant blame fans for getting disgruntled when you see other teams already making moves in the TW! i have every faith i think AVB will get his targets, but a pattern of previous TW's will begin to show if no movement is evident come the 1st weeks of July, i simply cannot understand any club not identifying there targets and setting the wheels in motion pre TW as it doesnt make any sense, especially if we are indeed in for the Brazillians and they are center stage in the Confederations cup.

A change in practice is needed, and we were led to believe this new direction stroke philosophy would be seen this TW, lets hope this to be true!

I would like to apologise to regular spammers of this thread for the above 'on topic' -ish posts. We can assure you that this is just a glitch and that normal service will shortly be resumed. Up yours Grapo ;)

So whats on the agenda today? Alien abduction of AVB? CIA plans to assinate Levy? KGB planting Sherwood as an undercover agent? Hudd to become the new presenter of Man vs food?

Gosh this is exciting.

Just wondering what makes you so sure we've not done our homework on players? Everything I've heard points towards us having specific targets in mind.

Its not like we havent identified top great players before - Modric, Sandro, Verts, Lloris etc -the issue the last couple of seasons has been us not getting the players we have identified rather than identifying none at all. What our managers / chairman / supporters want and what the players we're trying to buy, their agents and the selling clubs want are often very different. If we did all our transfers early for the sake of getting people in but didnt try our damnedest to get the specific players we need i doubt anyone would be very happy and we'd probably end up with worse than the players some people on here think are not worth it.
