Yep. Bobby and Lamela would just about cover GB's loss. Add to that a further strengthening of the squad and, other than the usual suspects, hardly something to have a tanty about.

That's the depth and strength we need to make top 3 and win trophies!

Or I suppose you could try and win that debate by going to a ridiculous extreme that you know neither of us are suggesting?

My only hope regardless of the source is that he claims Willian actually said he hasn't made his mind up. Hoping it is true but i am pretty certain that we have lost out. As it stands, If I had to choose one of the 2 I would have taken Lamela as Ive seen lots more of him and he is truly brilliant.

I already am resigned to him going Chelsea but I'm saying IF he was still undecided Levy and AVB could score a priceless psychological victory of Jose.

To be honest, I can't see someone sitting on the bench for any length of time as we are in so many competitions. Everyone would get a game and two number 9's are what we need incase there is an injury to Soldado, and we know how Spurs like to get injured at crucial times.

It's a fair point that we need goalscoring cover for injury.

What I love about how the squad is put together is we're 3 players deep for every spot - because of that versatility.

I'd take Damiao in a heart beat if there was nobody else who could do the dual role.

You don't compromise on quality.

I don't know how bright the guy is - but if I were him in World Cup year, I'd be asking - so you have Soldado, who is first choice no.9?

It's hard enough to keep Defoe in that role, and I don't doubt he loves the club.

That and no CL or earth shattering wages is a tough sell to LD.

We'll see what's available I guess.

As I say - far from a disaster, just think there's smarter ways to solve the problem.

I don't think we look like mugs at all. We just attempted to sign a player who was signed by another team at the last minute. At least we showed intent to sign a £30m player in the first place. We would have looked like mugs if we had announced it.
