I hate these opportunist signings when we can offload someone because it just kicks the can down the road and we’ll be stuck with the m in 2-3 yrs time. Unless of course they are loans.

Hope it’s a CB or AM, adding one of those as a 3rd signing after Porro would move this from a 6-7/10 window to more like a 9/10 given that January is a notoriously difficult transfer market to operate in.

Hincapie now or in Summer won't change much, he won't displace both Davies and Lenglet, he is more for the future anyway. But it's good that we are looking at players for the future, Udogie could use a decent LCB next to him.

It's my opinion we could eventually end up with one of 4 or 5 that everyone would be happy with. It's all about availability and price. All is good as long as we get one of them. Again that last paragraph is opinion.

As always as long as Conte is happy with whoever we are bringing in and he thinks that signing will strengthen the team/squad then happy days ?

As long as Porro goes through fine, I will be more than satisfied with the window. Anything else in is a bonus.

Defense surgery can wait for the summer given teams don’t usually sell their good CBs mid season

Obviously I don’t know the in’s and out’s of transfers but it’s frustrating we wait until the last few days, get in advanced negotiations and then quite often run out of time.
What is the benefit of this I wonder, identity the players and progress with the negotiations early enough to complete the deal.

Depends if we are willing to sacrifice a top 4 finish. Signing a decent CB could be the difference in gate crashing a top 4 finish , no way with our current crop do I see us making the top 4 .

Great ITK, thanks all. Re Trix's ITK about CB, I think our need at CB is so great and urgent that I hope we do indeed overpay to get someone quality in there now.

It sounds plausible but Gold hasn't been amazingly accurate on transfers for a while now.

Totally agree, he’s a good guy & doesn’t just give us lies to appease it us, tends to tell us how it is etc, and not scared to go against the club.

I’d agree it’ll be disappointing if porro is the lst signing. Desperately need a lcb THIS window imo.
