Glad to hear we should get Porro and Zaniolo over the line, even if I'm a bit underwhelmed by Zani.

I'm not saying a CB won't come in, I just haven't heard anything at all on who we want for that position. Others are far better positioned than I am. It's been said before but with so much happening behind the scenes, we could bring in 3, we could bring in 0! It's a huge week or so for the club. There is now a real fear CL isn't achievable with the current squad so I feel we will get the deals done.

So avoidable all of this.

That's the frustration.

Porro and zaniolo aren't going to make a dent in the problems we have with the squad playing the way Conte wants us to.

If that's all we're getting (and given past experience even that may be a stretch in January) then I don't think CL is even vaguely on the cards.

It's a big if, but if Zaniolo is the player Conte wants to change us from a 343 to a 352 then he and Porro would see a big shift in how we line up. Just like when Kulusevski and Bentancur changed our team last January, these two could do the same. Out goes an underperforming Son and Emerson/Doherty. We play with numbers in midfield with runners that actually can do something in front of goal, supported by at least one wingback that can contribute.

Totally agree.

We are hoping for another Kulu and Bentancur impact.

The chances of that happening again are slim.

Well it’s good to hear they are concerned, they should be. Personally I don’t think we get CL without at least a CD or GK as well as Zaniolo and Porro.

What CD were you thinking? Eye of the Tiger or something?

yes but Porro should be an outstanding improvement on what we have so that in itself could be a huge improvement to the team.
