I read somewhere that AVB's preferred system requires nothing more from the striker to score goals and have a high work rate. If he thinks Hooper could do that then let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Whats your thinking behind that mate? Not having a dig would just like to hear more from people that have more knowledge on Hooper.
Yes, AVB might prefer the more mobile type of front man even if he plays 1 up front. I remember Brendan Rodgers saying he prefers the more mobile type in his system, AVB might prefer that too. Alot of people seem to think we need a physical presence, that can hold the ball up ect ect, but there are other ways of playing the 1 upfront system. When you look at the Spanish league, you dont see many big 'target men' about.I read somewhere that AVB's preferred system requires nothing more from the striker to score goals and have a high work rate. Nothing against the two but I am quite looking forward to the day Damiao and Moutinho announce their retirements!
Damiao has been linked for the past 5 windows now? It's beyond ridiculous.
Mind you, by the time these two retire we will probably still be getting linked to Hooper!
Never ending circle.
After watching bits and pieces of Hooper I think he does one thing really well and that is put the ball in the back of the net, which is the primary thing AVB seems to want his strikers to do. Whereas after watching a fair bit of Negredo I think he is just average at everything. In my opinion he is a decent finisher, his movement is fair but not great, his hold up play is decent but not top notch, just everything about him is fairly average.
I cannot believe how quiet the big cheeses have been this window.

He's better than at least two, and he certainly isn't poo...
It's also straight forward to pick up Brazilians/Argies cos of the way their work permit system works. An untried 18/19/20 year old from South America wouldn't get a work permit to move to Spurs - that's generally why we and other teams then have to try and take them from the likes of Porto, BenficaPorto's scouting system is impressive I agree, but I think Portugal is a big attraction to these South American players. The climate, the language and also the league, whilst being technically good, its not the toughest league. So I think its a great first stepping stone into Europe for these players. Coming to Spurs is a totally different challenge.
Which tells us a great deal, imo.I cannot believe how quiet the big cheeses have been this window.
City surprises me. I thought they'd be spending like fuck to catch up with Utd. Particularly for defenders.
