The centre forward in a 451/433/4231 whatever doesn't always have to be about power, Van Persie excelled in that role for the scum before getting injured last season and he's much more about movement than strength, depends the way you play

I know what you mean. But power is fun. Raw power with our dynamism would be electric, don't you think, and especially useful away from home. Anyway let's wait and see what happens over the next few days.

Milevkiy is more a Berbatov player who would play as the 1 up in a variation of 4-5-1.

Arda would be very useful in the left inside forward role (or in fact any of the 3 behind the forward) in those formations.

I've never seen Milevskiy play up front on his own. What games have you seen him in Dan? Was he successful?

I would prefer Marin to Turan anyday

Someone talked earlier about a player to play in the hole. Personally I think we have that in Kranjcar, but how about Petric?

Agreed but it's not the necessity it's been made out to believe at times

Theres no ITK on arda, spurs clearly do not want him. The amount you talk about him Dan, its unreal - he's no messi.

Who in our first 11 will make room for Arda? Modric? No, Bale? No, Lennon? No.

BAE or Defoe. The beauty of Arda is that he could replace all of Keane, Gio and Bentley as he can play LM, RM and #10.

has he? for me only in pre season. i think he has to play behind the first striker. no good on the wings. think he should go out on loan, more experience required.

Has he not? two appearances and you're ready to give up? You FM people are so absurd. I love it.

I think I'm missing something from what everyone else is seeing. I don't get the impression that a move to Tottenham is something he craves as I think he's been looking for a move to Real or Barca over the last two years. I'm questioning his motivation I suppose.

Fundamentally I just don't rate him. Of course he's good technically, but that's a given.

What does that mean though, every single player in world football would choose them over a move to us if they were interested - but they are not.

The impression I get of Fabiano is that he has gone stale at Sevilla, wants an exciting new challenge, as well as wanting what will be his last major contract to be fat.

I have my doubts as to him too, he is not a player that will power us up the league through sheer ability and force of character, but he is intelligent, does have experience, and if Dunga rated him, he must be a fairly hard worker.

Just as a point. Keano looked very happy during his half-time warm-up. Very much at home.

My personal interpretation of that is he's content at Spurs. There's obviously no insider information. But the bloke was about 5 yards away from me, and he was smilling, laughing and joking. Probably means nothing but worth mentioning I thought.

I will get stick for this, but based on his form since Xmas, pre season and first two games this season I would head straight up to Blackburn and offer big money for Kalinic.

I haven't. Only in a 4-4-2 behind a poacher. I don't think 4-5-1 suits him because he's not really a goalscorer. I do think he could though do a job there, like Berbatov did for us when Keane was out.

I like Marin and also think Jovetic might be another option for us if we leave this signing till January.

I think Kranjcar would do very well as a #10 - it was his position before he moved to Portsmouth wasn't it? Petric would be a solid addition.

Great shout on Kalinic, he has always looked talented and has steadily become a better and better player since coming over here.

Bah! Vickery, whilst being an excellent journalist can't spot a player for shit, so many of predictions for how players will fair in Europe are bollox.

To be fair Tim has an almost impossible task because the leagues he covers are unlike anywhere else in the world. He also admits a lot of the time when he's been wrong.

Pletikosa is done! Will be on the official site tomorrow or friday. We made an enquiry about Asmir Begovic after monitoring his situation at Stoke however they are not keen to sell and the player wants to go to Chelsea. Working on the Diarra deal. Levy prefers a loan but Harry wants to get him in permanently. Haven't heard anything new on Fabiano apart from what other itk's have already stated about him being the number one striker target. Keane is deffo off, trying to do a deal with celtic wages and transfer fee just need to be sorted. Thats all for now folks

Think signing Suarez is possible. I really do think he is the real deal. Would be future proof just an amazing player

I mentioned his name much earlier in the summer too. He's a class act who seem's to be getting better.

We aren't interested in turan. I tried to make this clear in my latest update by putting it in bold!

Phew not the only one. Was really intrigued to see how he would get on when joining Blackburn and he struggled at first, which is normal. Watched him closely since the new year and he's steadily developed. His first two games of this season he's been excellent.

I think he'd be a really shrewd buy.

3 positions at once? Eek He sounds like some player in that case..

In all seriousness, I dont think his type of player is needed. Someone who can play lone striker though would be a treat, but some people believe fabiano can do that - so we will see.

I think the additions of Diarra & Fabiano will actually be enough. Its more then we could have possible wished for at the start of the summer. Sandro is here too remember and he looks an incredibly disciplined player, will be useful for a handful of matches this season no doubt.
