Hmm, a teasing couple of tweets by our very own Akqa and Ryan. Interesting if true.

At a guess I'd say it would be one of Adebayor or Leandro. I really can't see us buying both as they don't look like they'd be able to play in the same starting line-up, and the last time I checked, we weren't a club that could afford to spend £20m+ on squad players.

I really doubt we'll sign Leandro.

I just find it hard to believe that Internacional will let both Oscar and Leandro go in the same transfer window. Plus if Inter have just sold Oscar for 20m+ then Leandros price will be at least that. Do the club really want to pay that for effectively what will be a back up striker?

I hate to be cynical but the comments coming from both the player and club always gi to me that the deal is not going to be done.

Hopefully i'm wrong though because Ade with Leandro as competition will be perfect.

If we can't afford them, hope AVB is given time, at least 18 months to try to find and develop some young talent.

werent we done this road before.. yes we have developed and bought talent years ago who are now of age. its time we sprinkled a bit of real class on top of players like lennon , bale and dawson and kaboul otherwise next summer its going to bale out the door. he is obviously next player to go unless we get in top 4. vicious circle but standing around waiting for a good cheap or cheaper deal whilst top clubs around you strengthen only spells bad times ahead.

the minimum for AVB is to get 4th this season or at least a trophy . if he doesnt do any of these then he has a more difficult job on his hands and pressure will be really on imo.

Oh FFS.

We're going to spend 20 million on a back up?
He wouldn't be back up as such, he'd be brought in as an expensive promising talent

Probably blooded in to the team slowly in the same way Sandro was to ease the transition , its not like (if we were to bring him in) we'd be bringing him in just as a back up with no expectation of him being our number one striker (ala Saha)

I agree I doubt this one will happen, but I am not against the notion of signing both Ade and Leandro and who's to say we wouldn't employ two strikers or have one of them playing wide right or as a second striker? Are AVB's formations set in stone? At the very least the rotation could be great of the course of the year.

Spending a truck load of money without any sort of coherent plan or financial back up would also spell bad times: Leeds, Rangers, Portsmouth etc
I sense impatience in all your postings. What is clearly required here is exactly the opposite, be it patience in this transfer window, or patience to allow AVB's strategies to bed in or patience to not chuck the towel in if we're not 15 points clear at Christmas, (or indeed if 4th is a struggle).

We're still being strongly linked with players, it looks like we want to buy a few more players and those we are being linked with look more than suitable. Have a bit of faith.

They could end up playing together if AVB finally realizes that the British contingent at Spurs are not skillful and nifty enough to play his style and he has to opt back to 442.

We have to spend big on forward cause our forward line as well as our GK have been neglected for too long

If we got Damaio for 20 and Ade for 5....both of them still cost less then the Liverpool backup striker Carroll

Actually I wouldn't mind getting Carroll for about 10 million as a battering ram when needed against Stoke City.

Damaio, Ade and Vertonghen would cost less than Carroll.

He'd also be good back-up for the bench. I don't mean as a sub - I mean literally as back-up in case the bench breaks. He looks sturdy and I reckon he could support the weight of five or six subs (or one Mido).

its far from inpatience. im cynical on the way spurs go about their business. top clubs get players they want in asap and have done already. and not all of them were big money ones. arsenal learned their lesson from last year and bought 2 strikers in for rvp leaving. united needed a midfielder in and still looking ok for more. they got their back up young striker in for when berba goes and its same with chelsea. i dont mind if we are just buying to add some quality and depth to squad but when there is at least 3 or 4 or even more positions really up for grabs in your first team alone imvho stil to l be bought for, then questions should be asked. we seem to be going from pillar to post and back again with players and same names keep coming up. like i said spurs need to show conviction in their actions and players they want.

Internacional bought Forlan this window, so I assume they are expecting or at least would be willing to sell Leandro Damiao this summer.
