I agree, plus if they are offloading Lukaku at a huge loss and stumping up the fee for Martinez that's a lot of money spaffed already and must have a bearing on other business they'll need to do.
yeah exactly, plus by all accounts martinez cannot play as a sole striker so it could be a very poor move for them.

Sadly (for some of you) this thread is for discussing ITK and not what you 'wonder' or any other random thoughts that pass through the huge void resident between your ears as you sit staring blankly at your screens wondering if Tinky Winky ever gives La-La a good seeing to with a strap on.

Can't see why people are moaning about Chelsea, they are doing what they need to do just like we are

Pretty sure we would do the same

I presume all previous deals are written off for them with the take over. Clean slate as they have become ’sunk costs” so to speak. So they get Martinez for the £25-£30m and lose Lukaku.

I doubt it. Unlikely they paid for lukaku in full so they will still owe inter the remaining balance

Or perhaps it's all just posturing, like we are. We're potentially holding our interest in Bremer over them and saying sell us Bastoni for the price we want or we'll go for your replacement. Inter are in a financial mess so they won't be doubling Bastoni's wage any time soon. I think the chance to work with Conte again and secure his future might have turned Bastoni's (and his agents) head so he could be up for it. This could be Inter's way of telling us that we're not the only show in town.

They sold Lukaku and replaced him with Dzeko (36 now and 13 goals for them this season in the league), they could sell Bastoni and replace with Bremer and make 30m but that's still not enough for them to clear 60m. Selling Lautaro and replacing with Dybala (on a "free" with a big signing on fee and wages) while taking Lukaku back to replace Dzeko might be the answer.

They had to find money last year, have to find it this year and, most likely will have to find it again next year.

Don't think 2yr loan is possible...As per new FIFA regulations, starting July2022 - maximum number of loan years is 1 year. Exception for under21 players only

Given this kicks in as of July 1st and the transfer window opens on June 10th, presumably there's nothing to stop them agreeing to a 2 year loan deal for Lukakau before the new regulations are introduced?

The only question mark around the loan deal is how does it benefit Chelsea? I guess there would have to be an obligation to buy at the end of the loan - otherwise they're basically just letting an expensive asset lose value and get older for a nominal loan fee. Better than stinking up their bench I suppose...

Normally debts eould be wrapped up in deal rather than bring passed on to the new owner? I thought in any event Inter sold Lukaku to Chelsea to generate most of the money up front.

Chavs showing their git side again. Inter now fancy doing a trade off with them for Martinez. The whole thing stinks. Two years on the trot. Don’t blame the club if it does not happen.
Just so I can get my head around this, is this regarding a deal for L Martinez or our deal for Bastoni?

I think international deals only go through after July 1

Think the theory is that Chelsea doing a swap deal of Lukaku + cash for Martinez scuppers our plan to go for Bastoni as Inter won't be desperate for cash anymore and/or won't want to sell two of their most important players. Don't know that Hercules is referring to Chelsea swooping for Bastoni but I could be wrong.

A lot has been said about Inter needing a min profit of €60m after all their transfers have been done.

In addition to that, don’t they also have to reduce wages by about 15%? If that is true, signing Dybala or Lukaku would not help solve that issue.

thought lukaku had agreed to a hefty wage reduction to rejoin though? am sure the chav scum will screw with us one way or the other, it's in their dna.

Great to have the ITK manage our expectations.
Like some others I am not too fussed about the chavs behaviour as we have many weeks to go until deadline day and its not down to our lack of urgency that things may not have gone our way.
