Nearly but not quite Aly, although I'm not denying he looks very much like the most likely in(along with Tosin), and Ange is on board he's 100% not his #1 choice.

I've had a long conversation this evening with my guy who himself has had this from the top table, and whilst I've been quite vocal in not wanting him, the reasoning for going for him is actually very sound and makes an awful lot of sense.

It's very much more than just a "Levy likes him" or "he's a great bargain". So as much as I don't like DL I'm not going to criticize him if he pulls this off. It is actually joined up thinking as far as 'club signings' go for once.
Very good to hear.

I know some will feel its underwhelming to bring just Tosin and Johnson even though we have money to buy a star player, but what is not being said enough is how both deals mean we get rid of deadwood while also strengthening the squad. Sure, they aren’t the elite players we all wanted, but with these 2 aditions in context with our other summer signings plus the cleansing in the squad (this for me is the most important thing now) we have actually gone through the rebuild, and this cannot be overstated. Not only we end it with an overall better squad (yes, even without Kane and an elite striker, and this is huge), but one that suits our manager and only with players ready to bleed for the shirt, and I think even in Poch’s best years we never had this. And not only all this, we would go to january/summer 2024 looking to 2/3 specific big players from having a world class squad. So bring it on, with Ange ahead of the process I am so so hyped for the road ahead. COYMFS!

Good news if the club brass and Ange are mostly aligned on Brennan. Albeit maybe not the coach first choice.

Sounds like a complicated situation. Hope we have back up plans, should it become a quagmire that sucks us in and it’s too late to course correct.

As for the Tosin news… great if Dier is up for it. But if Sanchez leaves too and Tanganga, that would leave us with 3 CBs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

(ps: Can we please cut the weird narrative about how the ‘club feeds Ally‘. The guy is intelligent and honest. Would know the difference between being used as a ‘mouthpiece’ versus genuine information.)

It is different. If I get the green light I'll post what I posted earlier back of house which explains things a little better, and why I've changed my personal feelings on this deal being done.

I actually think it makes a lot of sense to get him as long as we can get the right deal done.
Just feels like there’s more to this than just this signing. Does this impact on other prospective incomings. Could be good if Trix has given it the green light 👍

Really uninspired by these potential signings. I hope Ange does want them because for me he has the team performing to the way he wants and we want to see football played. I still think there’s bags of improvement but so far so good! Burnley is our usual banana skin game with losing their first 2 as well now going to be tough. If we win that my expectation this season will be raised significantly. Hoping for a VDV signing last day of the window 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I don’t think the 2 mentioned in the ITK today are uninspiring.

They’d both be smart signings in terms of profile of players and characters and players who know the league etc and also in terms of fitting into the balance of the squad which is very important in maintaining morale across the season especially when we aren’t in Europe this season.

If we dont get a striker this summer I reckon we'd spend fairly big on a striker within the next 6/12 months assuming it doesn't work out with Rich and Son.

Remarkably we're finally reaching a place where we don't need big upgrades in many positions and, going forward, can instead spend big on 1 or 2 spots in the team rather than needing to solve 5/6 positions at once.

Tosin and a pacey winger and/or striker would be excellent.

Tosin probably my first choice, would give us good depth at CB.

Having seen the borderline miracles Ange has done with the squad so far i'm much more inclined to trust the incomings a bit more now as long as they have Ange's approval.

Also worth noting a CM isn't out of the question if we can shift a few in that position. Ndombele, GLC & Hojbjerg could all leave. Lots of names being thrown around but one we really like.

Just have to wait for outgoings.

I thought a decent striker coming in was an absolute guarantee if Kane were to go... That being said, if a target who we consider to be a top player isn't attainable for whatever reason, I can maybe overlook it for now if Ange thinks he has players he can work with. I think Johnson may be brought in for various reasons and viable ones at that, but I would like for us to only bring in players of a certain calibre or who we deem to be a great young talent. Whether not bringing in a striker this window is a result of a mindset as such will remain to be seen.

Thinking about it more today and I could certainly live with Johnson and Tosin being the end to our window. I think we also have to remember that we're in the process of a rebuild and this is Ange's first window, so it was always unlikely that we'd fill in all the gaps. The players who have come in all seem to be hitting the mark, as well as players who have been brought into the side really excelling, which will make things much easier for future windows. We certainly seem to be moving in the right direction.
We need a striker scoring goals though. I’d agree if Richy or Son looked on form

As of now, the likelihood of the Tosin deal happening is low. However, this situation might shift in our favor as the deadline approaches. Additionally, we currently have the Gift Orban deal under consideration, including the fee. We are confident that we will secure at least one forward before the deadline. Furthermore, we've been informed that there's a possibility of pursuing Fati towards the end of the transfer window, given the scenario where Felix and Cancelo move to Barca.

We initiated an inquiry for Paulinha, keeping in mind the potential departure of Pierre. The club was informed that his departure could be activated with a fee of 70 million. However, we're exploring the option of including two players in this deal, namely Reguillon and Dier, which could potentially bring the price down.

I forgot to mention that Brennan Johnson is a top contender for the forward position, and the clubs are currently working on the financial details to determine if this is a viable option. Meanwhile, we've been receiving offers from agents all across Europe, both for loan and permanent deals. The week ahead is expected to be busy with twists, turns, and uncertainties. Hopefully, we can secure what we believe is necessary before January with moving the players not required for the season ahead .

Palhinha is a quality player but not sure we need another DM, even if PEH leaves.

Doesn’t matter what we think what big ange wants I guess .

Oh 100%.

Just surprising he’s willing to spend that much on a DM when we’re already pretty stacked in that position.

But tbf Big Ange could bring Gary Doherty out of retirement and I’d back it 🤣

Cheers WLB. All sounds pretty good.

Palinha is a top player and Ange said how important the 6 is in his system after the game at the weekend. Remaining optimistic for the week ahead 🙏

Palhinha is a monstrous player. Arguably the best destroyer in the league and can play as well. We’d have arguably the best midfield in the league with his addition and Bentancur’s return. Hard to see Fulham being too willing to negotiate though.
