That would be a very strange definition of a fine detail. One of the key details if indeed Bale did want it in his contract.

Also AVB is never normally this loquacious about targets, either he's very confident or heaping pressure on Levy

Clarification:

"Spurs expect to be in a position to announce soldado agreement by Saturday at the latest. If Soldado trains on Saturday things change. There is an agreement in place to sell only to us if they find a replacement. That agreement is forfeited if he trains on Saturday"

Depends really. I'm sure that bids came in for the likes of Bentley that were rejected, but ultimately he was released. Darren Bent's fee was all addons and I very much doubt we got the money back that we really wanted to get, but its very few and far between.

Oh and apparently we rejected a £40m bid from Chelsea for Modric, then sold him for more like £30m the next year. Perhaps that was our preference to send him abroad, or to sacrifice £10m for one more shot at CL qualification, but in monetary terms, we didn't get as much as we had previously valued him at
