Interesting to hear we're looking at Grealish. We saw ITK a year ago from Trix that we had been looking at him at the time, but also that every club in England was. Don't suspect we'd manage to reel him in though, as Tim can guarantee him first choice playing time as he continues to improve and it's true he and his family are rabid Villa fans. I do suspect he'll eventually leave to further his development (barring an extraordinary rise from Villa), but he'll probably be beyond us at that point.

In the same vein, I hope we're giving consideration to grabbing Roberts from Fulham. Would be a very clever buy at this point IMO, and the fact we're following Grealish gives me hope that we might be considering very young Brits for our winger/wide No 10 needs.

I work with a Brentford season ticket holder and here are some of the highlights from our conversation.

"Big time Charlie"
"Thinks he's already made it because he plays for Tottenham"
"Doesn't track back"
"Lazy"
"Has real talent and promise however he doesn't show it enough or consistently"

If he is in the first team next year he is in for a rude awakening, I don't see Poch putting up with this.

I am a believer we it comes to Pritchard. :)

Ps. Eriksen should play in the middle as he is our best midfielder (y)

I live opposite Griffin Park and went to 10+ games last season. Bees are my second team.

With respect, you colleague is talking rubbish. Brentford fans used to sing 'We want you to stay, Alex Pritchard, we want you to stay'. They loved him!

We really have very little to lose by implementing a stronger youth element in the early stages of our Europa League and Carling Cup campaigns.

Agree, but it never happens though. If we can't qualify from the group stages against some of those two bob teams with our second string then so be it.

Was it ever confirmed that it was Grealish? I think he said it was a youngster from Villa, but that could be a 15-year-old for all we know...?

Confirmed, no he didn't, that is true. That was just the general consensus response because at that point he hadn't played for the first team so not many outside the youth world knew who he was, but was creating a buzz nonetheless.

Entirely possible it could have been someone else though.

So this ITK said we are interested in Grealish then, and Tim wants a couple at Spurs, with one being Pritchard yes??

He can suck a fat one if he thinks he is taking Pritch permanently, but depending how their season is and his progression by Jan, maybe a loan in the second Half of the season?

Otherwise, I'd be content with selling them Carrol, Fredericks, maybe Hall and Ward too, with loans for Veljkovic and Yedlin

Apologies if been confirmed as Pritchard, but I wonder if the Brentford link could actually be a former Spurs player in David Button. Sherwood seems to have chopped and changed keeper since going to Villa.

A half season loan like Walker had wouldn't be a bad option to get him used to the pace of the prem. If we can then integrate him at xmas excellent, if he isn't ready leave him to develop at Villa. When I watched him a few times last year I noticed his work rate wasn't that high but he does have quality on the ball. I wasn't convinced he would be a first team starter for us next year but he does have a real talent.

Button is pretty shocking I doubt he'd look to bring him in.

Could be right Button was linked with Villa during Brentfords play-offs, although I wouldn't class him as "young Spurs..." - Hes about 27 and we sold him a few years ago.

I don't see why any Spurs Academy player would pick Villa over Spurs, not only are we a much better side, but there's the same opportunities for younger players than there are at Villa. Unless you know you won't see a game under Poch, then staying at Spurs is an easy decision, if you perform you get first team chances and if you do well there you become a mainstay.

Agree. My friend is a Brentford fan and said he's been amazing all season. Really worked hard as it was his time to shine and prove himself.
