Good stuff. It's about time we bought a right-back.
As has been said a slightly odd one as he's 23 so hardly a youngster but I suppose there's still plenty of time for him to develop. I would have thought they'd need him to be Premiership ready now though to justify signing him.

Our decision was to be made by 28th August - tomorrow. We take quite a few players on trial from them in the purpose of improving relationships between the clubs and making sure we are keeping an eye on their talents, and we requested for him to have a trial (whether based on club form or WC form I have no idea). They have never worked out before to my knowledge, but according to POTL looks like we may have pulled one out worth having in this case. I'm sure POTL will be able to establish the nature of our loans from them better than I can but that is how I understand it.

We should beat Werder Bremen in the Champions League as they are close to signing Mikael Silvestre (according to SSN).
To be honest if he is even championship standard at £750k he is worth a punt as he'll be on cheap wages and you could probably ship him out on loan for a year to a lower level prem or championship team and sell him next summer for a fair profit (£1.5-£2m?). Worst case is he has a good year playing on loan and looks like a prem quality defender and we put him in the squad for next year. I'm sure Levy looks at opportunities to double his money within 12 months quite seriously.
