OK time for the guessing games to stop and all head over to the Berahino thread where its all kicking off good and proper.
To be fair, old chap, what else were you expecting other than guessing games when you posted the #surprise text and then drew everyone's attention to it?

Earlier in the month we had news from Levy himself, that a lot of business, by the nature of the process, would be toward the end of the month.

Notwithstanding Peace's protestations about the lateness of our approach, negotiations will have been going on for probably most of August. His agent will have acknowledged our approach and given us the green light to speak to the WBA a long while ago.

Now, if Peace was adament that his rhetoric earlier this evening, is his final word, he would have not given Levy the rope with which to keep this process going. He woludn't even have given the bids made and publicity, or have his key striker get to the point, in order to push his sale through, of handing in a transfer request.

It's my opion, that this whole charade is by numbers and will culminate in a Aug 31st sale to us with Peace having got across to his fan base, that he's extracted every penny from a notoriously tough negotiater in Levy so that he's looked after the best interests for the club. He has his replacements in so that part of his statement is a smoke screen and more guff to fluff up his stance.

Berahino will be a Spurs player.
Can't agree with this. This isn't barca selling messi. It's a young English player who has had one ok season. Chairmen could just say there recieved a big offer and player wants to go. There is no need whatsoever for all these statements. If anything it make Spurs look elsewhere. I will bet any money you wish he ain't for sale this window

To be even fairer…..the guessing wasn't based on 'surprise' rather than peoples pie in the sky wishlists :D

And who you fucking calling old?

I'm using th Everton model for saying a player isnt for sale which is consistent in its message to Chelsea, as was Levy's lambasting of Chelsea when they were after Modric.
Everything about this process suggests it's Peace manouevering the end result in to a position where he doesn't lose face.

I see what you ae saying but I really think that this is not happening from this and the statement the other day. I just hope we have someone else lined up or that JJ comes in here later and tells us what may be going on.

Fair play to WBA's chairman! Is this still a stunt for the fans?

It may not be what we want to hear but if he sticks to it then you have to admire him unlike other chairman who say " he's not going anywhere" and in the blink of an eye he's gone.

Seems to me he's cutting his nose off to spite his face, would he look a complete dick if he turned back now, yes but a dick with 25 million in his hands which would be a great return for a player who wants to leave and value is now going to dwindle once the window slams shut. My honest opinion is they have little to gain for keeping berahino, I don't think keeping him will suddenly get them cleague places it's not like when we kept modric when keeping a player of his standard got us 4th that season.

I was keen to get Berahino but I love this stage of the window. I'm looking forward to seeing what our back up options are and how that will effect other transfers!

Whoop, let's get all excited about who our 3rd 4th and 5th choice targets are when our first choice was Berahino!

Can't wait to see the exciting names on that list!!

Pretty forceful from Peace but doesn't quite make sense when he says that they haven't time to replace Berahino, I was under the impression they had.

Still backing our ITK at this point still, although might add a bit more salt.

Shame we haven't got a striker lying around that we could pass on to them.

Seriously get a grip... We are seemingly signing Son and will no doubt have other options. Wait for the window to finish before your toys exit the pram...
I hope I'm not missing some hidden irony in your post, but wasn't Dazzabee joking? I thought the Borini reference was a big clue.

He is doing what it takes to improve his club. Goals is goals - they need them as much as we do. He's standing up to Levy. Admire him for that.

I don't agree I think SB could be the difference of staying up or relegation for them. His 20 goals last season certainly did.and their chairman knows that.
