I've been thinking for a while that I could see Levy seeing "value" in Maguire...

Not sure I'm completely against the idea as well.

Not on the wages Maguire is on he wouldn’t!

I’m not surprised they’ve offered him to us again. They’re desperate to get rid of him. He should just go to West Ham and team up with JWP.

Maguire? No thanks. Rather keep Dier. At least he was decent 2 years ago! Maguire was last decent in 2019.

I would rather keep PEH and play him as CB, rather than even entertain the idea of signing Maguire.

Have been saying for years he was a liability for Man UTD and England.

I don't think the information said one way or the other so could it be a loan? We move people out get cover for CB but free up another squad space next summer to bring in a long term CB. It also gets him off United's book for this season which may suit them with only four days of the window left.

Thoughts of Maguire and Dier playing together in a high line. Feeling suicidal for the first time in my life.

I just don't believe Ange would see anything appealing in Maguire. Slow, error-prone, the turning circle of a small country and arrogant (and not in a "he backs himself" way but more "wow he is deluded") to top it off.

Let's be honest we all knew that. I suspected as soon as the rumors started to come out, and the more I heard about things, the more obvious it became.

From what I understand Paratici is quite keen as well, but again it's more to do with the deal as a whole than it is just about Johnson's fit into what Ange wants to do. Gabaninni isn't as keen and feels there are better options from a footballing pov.

Daniel Fab and the board are a little concerned about the HG numbers moving forward. Not so much this season but long term, as all the good quality British players are hoovered up quickly and then you are looking at huge numbers to get them. From that pov if we can work in some deadwood they feel BJ is actually fairly well priced(should have brought Scott then ;) ).

We feel that with what we have coming through now we won't need to buy much in the way of HG in a couple of years time as we will have a decent production line coming from the youth set up, and BJ will help to cover that gap.

Tbh that does all make sense and whilst I'm not keen on him personally I can see the logic. As long as Ange is happy with it I guess I can get on board with it.

This is what I posted yesterday afternoon bts in reply to "Levy is the one pushing this deal".
