My money would be on Toivonen.
But bearing in mind the propensity with which VDV's hamstrings break, Eriksen would get more than his fair share of games.

I very much doubt Ajax would sell us more than one player. They've just won the league and will be in the CL next season. So they will want to strengthen. Vertonghen only has a year left on his contract so they don't have choice but to consider offers.
A very lower priority though when we actually own zero decent forwards at this point in time.
My money would be on Toivonen.
Are there any good goalkeepers in Holland?
Luuk de Jong, Eriksen, Bas Dost, Mertens & Strootman are the other standout talents in Holland IMO
Maybe it isn't even a player, de Boer?
I used to be keen, but the more I've seen of him, the more I'm convinced he's not good enough for our level.
Eriksen would be wonderful if we lost Modric, but Mertens is an unbelievably good shout.
If last season was anything to go by we need additional pace in the wide areas, and Mertens is lightning, tricky and scores goals too. Reminds me a bit of a mixture between Lennon and Overmars.
Luuk De Jong is also a good call, although Leandro looks technically more advanced. Probably why they want so much cash for him though!
Bas Dost doesn't look great to me, bit of a Peter Crouch
Well we def need 2 strikers now saha has been released!! Must be confident too of done it now.?

I've not seen too much of him but he seems to fit the bill for the sort of striker Harry likes. Harry has been interested in Carroll and Kenwyne Jones in the past so I can see why he'd consider a player like Toivonen as a backup striker.

Me too, dont rate the guy. FFS...We have a winner....and if he becomes a Spurs player I'm going to be so disappointed.
Toivonen isn't like that though. Although he's big, he's more a #10 than a #9, so would be back-up for Rafa rather than Ade.
Erikson is absolutely nothing like Modric though - they play in completely different positions/parts of the pitch.
Agree about Bas Dost. His stats are impressive but he doesn't look much in the flesh.
We haven't realeased Saha (as far as I've heard). He just becomes a free agent on 30 June, same as the other 3 out of contracters (Nelsen, King and Cudicini).
