I would be very happy with Parker & Fab at this stage in the window.

i just can't see the Fabiano deal happening, it seem's to be too expensive and I am not convinced that he would be a success in the PL. L.Diarra does not seem like it's going to happen aswell if the Mourinho comments are to be believed and the reported wages he's on. We will end up Parker (sadly for me) only.

So did Fabiano play yesterday? I saw about five minutes of the second half and didn't notice him.

The board seems to be reluctant to push on from last year and make the necessary signings we need. Let's take a look at man utd buying berbatov, everybody thought that was a masterclass by levy getting 30 m for him ( good for spurs). But this kept utd at the top of the pile even though levy squeeze every last penny out of them. We should pay over the odds on whoever we are after in order to progress.

Sorry guys do not want to add to the doom and gloom after yesterday but i think wocka could be right.

I thought that finishing 4th and then champions league qualification would signal an oppurtunity for us to push on for quality signings move out some of the unwanted players and either try keep the 4th spot or move to the next level and challenge for the title.

Instead we seem to be not able to attract the quality needed or not willing to go that extra little bit with transfer fee or wages. This is the best oppertunity this club will have of ever having a go at both big prizes and i would not like us to miss out.

So here is hoping that the last couple of days bring us a few quality signings and not some tales of oh yes we were in for this player and that player but the fee was to big or the wages were above what we are prepared to pay.

Maaate now you are being just plain daft saying the above unless you are ITK and know what is going on at board level?

Have patience as this is business, we are talking large sums of money here not your average Saturday bet, when you buy a house or get a mortgage or buy stuff through work does someone say "yeah that's sounds good but why don't we spend 1 million more than we need to " ?

all this nonsense about fabiano, huntelar and now rossi! its highly unlikely fabiano is coming and I for one am pleased, overated and would be a poor investment at the age of 29, huntelar is clearly not good enough and rossi didnt exactly set the world on fire with man utd! yesterdays inept performance shows that we are crying out for another attacking midfielder cos without modric we are too predictable.

i'm getting fed up of people saying fabiano is 29......so what klinsmann was over 30 and lineker was around that age when he joined us i think. who cares if he hasn't got a resale value, for too long we've brought people for the reason that they MIGHT come good where here we have a chance to buy a player in his prime the likes of which we could only dream about a couple of seasons ago and people still aren't happy. as been said a million times already drogba is 32 david villa is 29 but you'd be more than happy if we were after them. this isn't a direct rant at you mate it's just been driving me nuts :bang:

From what I understand we get £11 million for qualifying for the champions league and roughly about a million for each win. That's not enough for a world class striker let alone pay £100,000+ in wages.

Fabiano would cost us about 34 million pounds - £13m fee plus £21m in wages (£100,000 x 52 x 4 )and we would get nothing back. He will be a free transfer in 12 months...we can negotiate with him in 6 months. Lets spend that transfer fee on a #9 and look at him again over the next two windows.

We will be rightly screwed if he turns out to be a Rebrov, Shevchenko or Robinho - that's a hell of an expensive white elephant.
