i see micheal bradley is close to joinging villa.... there goes getting rid of jenas.... this last 2 days is just getting worse and worse..

Thud has had a setback and harry is considering leaving him out of the 25 so we can't afford to lose jj

I think Abramovich has realised he needs to start spending again, the bid for Aguero and Godin, the bid for Luiz and now the bid for Torres, seems like he's decided to get his cheque book out again which only makes things harder for us.

I take your point but I am genuinely surprised that they are making massive bids. It goes against everything that's been coming out of Stamford Bridge these last few months-in terms of trimming expenses and giving youth its chance, etc.

It's a bit like the situation at Villa where Lerner refuses to give MON the Milner money, turfs him out the door, hires Houllier and then turns around and obliterates their record transfer fee. Even if it is to avoid relegation.

Regardless of what you think of Jenas, it would be crazy to sell him now that Huddlestone has suffered a setback

Can we stop with the Suarez stuff please?

It's quite evident that we didn't want him as he doesn't fit the style of striker we're looking for.

Adie's latest fits with what I posted earlier, it was clear it's the Torres money they're spending, you don't jump from £13m to £23mill unless something significant has changed.
It seems that the club may have thought we could get Ajax down and it wasn't Liverpool that overturned that it was Chelsea by going for Torres.

As for Torres going to Chelsea what are his options? He won't go to Real Madrid Barca aren't in for him and City just bought Dzeko so even if people on here think Chelsea are on the wain they still have more chance of success than Liverpool and are about all that's left.
There is us of course but let's be serious.

I think it's more the fact that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush - yes Newcastle could cash in on Carroll now but his value to them is worth much more than he would be for us. The trouble is that the selling club could be left with a gaping hole in their side with very little time to manoeuvre and find an adequate replacement.

Yeah, I agree, and plus a player is really worth whateveer a club is willing to pay. Anything over £18m for Carroll makes me feel incredibly uneasy.

Agree...but how about 20GBP and a player...say Krankie...

i just cant see how harry got/ is getting blamed. if this eales guy went to holland he must have got go ahead from levy and in turn got go ahead from harry. why wud they go over without harry knowledge and negiotiate without harrys knowing or consent/ idea that he might be keen. to me does not make sense to be fair. i think we might have enquired saw price and ran or found out that he had only interest in liverpool. who knows. i cant not for one minute harry got knuckles wrapped. the strikers we want we obv cant get one cos of wages and simplay cos they are saying not for sale.

Yes, but on SC Your wrong!! It didn't suit the management of our team but is the big name striker that many on here think would be the answer to all our problems!! Carlos Kickaball for £20 million + and everyones happy!

If he can Kickaball into the goal then it works for me.

Real Madrid have Benzema, Adebayor, and Higuain (currently injured, but they know he's coming back).

We have Crouch, Defoe and Pavlyuchenko.

Our situations our not, in any way, comparable.

Exactly! But according to some On here Benzema is surplus to requirements once they get a striker in?! Even though he would leave them with one striker and none for CL?!

There are no problems whatsoever between Harry and Levy...
We will get the right player in...
We are very ambitious...and will still be top 5...we just need someone special to challenge for top 4. IMO, it isn't Suarez...
Lets wait and see what happens with Torres and Chelsea.
