I still maintain, if Andy Carroll was called Antonio Carlez, or something similar, many people would have different opinions. People whinge something chronic about Crouch, can't finish, can't shoot, can't hold the ball up, can't header - all things Carroll does and yet people are still not happy about the Carroll link.

25m does seem a monsterous amount to spend unless you are backed by the likes of an oil magnate, but if Bent can go for £24m and Saurez, who is completely untested in this league, can come in for £23m, then 25m for Carroll suddenly looks good business. Bent will score goals, but is completely reliant upon service, where as Carroll looks a player who can create opportunities for himself and that is exactly what we need, someone who can open the door without having it put on a plate for him.

Gallas has it written into his contract that he has to earn as much as the highest earner, Torres gets £200k a week then Gallas has to get the same and god knows what clauses are written into Woody, King, Modric, VDV, we free £65k a week from Keane and then spend 10 times that on our existing players pay rises

I love Harry for what he has done. If i came home and he was hanging out the back of my missus i would wait for him to finish and get him a beer. We have been dreaming of champs league for years and now it arrives people start doubting the manager because of a tranfer window. Defoe is decent and just needs to find form. Pav can go on a run at any time. Crouchy is useful when all else fails. What we need is to get back to 2 up to. Not sure how but thats harrys job not mine.
