By the way, Vela went to West Brom today instead of Bolton... I had heard Bolton had agreed a deal yesterday so something slipped there... I also heard they made an offer for Pav.

Could they have cancelled the Vela deal because they're getting Pav in instead? hard to tell at the moment! Is he in the squad tomorrow?

people underrate Carroll because he is english, If he continues the form he is in he could really be something quite special. Both Llorente and Carroll will be big risks, Llorente is the better player, but I still see it unlikely that he will move.

Think so, I'm pretty sure we had some ITK saying he was starting as well so read into that what you will.

I think Coyle said after the Wigan game today mate Bolton had agreed a deal with Vela like you said, then Vela's agent moved the goal posts at the last minute, something due to additional payments or something. Hence he then went and signed for the Baggies

even if he is it wouldn't mean much. We have sold Chimbonda on the way to a game once

Llorente is a massive risk. Harry wants Carroll.

Maybe Real Madrid will get Carroll freeing up Benzema to come to us!

Carroll is more aggressive (on and off the pitch) than Llorente which there's an argument for (and EPL proven), but I think Llorente's a better player in just about every other way. Paying more for Carroll than we would for Llorente would be pretty weird! For risky mental states, I'd be a lot more wary of Carroll's!

If we had Llorente, I'd hope we wouldn't keep lumping it upto him Crouch-stylee.
On one hand yes, but on the other hand it worked well with Berbatov and Kanoute. It's all about mixing play up really. I'd like us to keep it along the ground a majority of the time but if we get it up to a big technical striker to get under control then the attacks will flow nicely still. Berbatov was magic at bringing the ball under control. Llorente isn't on that level but he does have a very good touch and great technique.

People are excited about llorente because he has a cool name. He's weak and would struggle in the prem IMO. Carroll may have a lot of potential, but 3 months of playing pretty well does not justify the fees being spoken about. If, and that's a big if, we have bid over £20m for Carroll (which for what it's worth I haven't had confirmed) then it will consist of loads of add ons, no way would DL splash like that on a relatively untested player.

Carroll will be a top player. He is exactly what we need. Imagine having a forward who could bully the defenders and free up space for VDV to play into. Not only that but he is a huge goal threat on the floor and in the air. Sure 25m is inflated but what if he is the difference between 4th and 5th. That pays for him. What if he fires us through to the semis of Champs league..... There is also less of a likelyhood he will not succeed.

That said llorente has been fantastic for 18 months.

Either will do.

Hard choice, Carroll is the better safe bet as he is proven in England but Llorente can slot straight in whereas Carroll is out for a month

Why can't we just sell Crouch and Pav and get BOTH

I really don't think Carroll is proven in the premier league. 11 goals proves nothing. Llorente has scored a lot more goals in top flight football. Imo Carroll is the risk and we cannot bid more than 15 million for him. To me he is a donkey

Wilson, Gio and VDV (I think) can speak Spanish. Maybe Woody has also retained a bit of the lingo. Not that the spoken language at a club is in anyway a factor that stops transfers happening.

Gio who??? Yes of course there are people that can speak Spanish and I'm sure he can speak English well enough to communicate but that's not exactly what I meant. Unlike the scum or Liverpool for example there's not much of a like cultural environment for a spanyard at spurs. It's a big deal.
