The other deal is down to the selling club getting a replacement in now, and if they don’t it will be summer. We still want Malcom in summer. His club don’t want to even engage in talks, which they invited, until summer.

Malcom himself, all agreed, now down to us and his club. We all know things can change.

With Lucas - we will have to drop 1 player, in addition to GKN, to register for CL.

What if we did?

We didn't do enough. There is ALWAYS a point at which a deal changes and becomes acceptable. Of course what we were willing to do may have been more than reasonable and we couldn't have predicted the market going so mad and in that case, fair enough. No arguments there.

Its all hindsight which is why my opinion means fuck all, and its a shame. We could have tried to sign Messi had we known about him etc.

Difference is that our interest in seseegnon was real. Either way, the fee we might eventually pay for him doesn't come out of my pocket so I'll leave the financials to the ones that matter

As I have said it's all about the Summer, if we can get them done early it's a bonus, but these players are long term targets. They are being bought for the long term, being/not being eligible for this season's CL doesn't really come into the reasoning.

Really hope the biggie isn't coming to another prem club. Especially if it turns out to be Bale or Modric. I'd be totally gutted to see them lining up against us in the league. CL obviously is a different matter.

Yeah I can't see CL registration being the determining factor in any deal this window. We'd still greatly benefit from having the player domestically!

Lovely to read Hercules' line that Malcom all agreed personally, I appreciate the clubs have it all to do but that is a bloody good start.
Going by Trix it seems to me that this window really wasn't a priority, good to get Moura in but even he was probably not for right now, there really is a grand plan isn't there.

So Moura and maybe one other now, and then Malcolm in the summer (if things go well between clubs then). Get the impression the one other now is not Sessegnon, am totally stumped but intrigued.
