I'm going for Moutinho, it's clear AVB wants to be reunited, thats probably an understatement, but obviously the asking price is HIGH and Levy doesn't want to fork out the dollar.

I would guess that Moutinho could have been in the discussions when AVB was interviewed for the job, maybe a Levy "getlemans aggrement", and now he is pissed off he ain't getting his man.

Sounds like it could be over a few things given the way JJ phrased it. I say Remy because I thought it unusual how unequivocal AVB was about us not being interested when it was being reported everywhere and claimed by Marseille themselves that they had turned down a bid.

But yeah, could imagine that Levy has been attempting to go all out for some B and C targets only to have AVB veto them due to still being utterly set on his A-list (Moutinho, Willian, etc). Not so malleable as Harry in that sense it seems. It's a good thing in a way, but we have some severely pressing needs here that must not go unsolved. The next 24 hours will determine the potential of our season.

LEVY IS D.O.F

COMPRENDE?

But was AVB aware of this from the start? Or was he promised certain players to get our team running as he wanted?
Only reason I ask is cause you seem to know more than us commoners:oops:

How did we sign Dembele so quickly then? If Levy is the problem then surely every deal will end up taking forever,
Dembele had a release clause of £15m, so there was no negotiation to be done.

All these other deals we immediately p*ss off the selling club, by being arrogant with our opening bids.

Let's still try and get things in perspective folks - a lot can happen in 24 hours and I don't doubt that along the way Levy and AVB will see thiings differently but there is still no reason to believe our plan is under threat.

This time tomorrow either way, the landscape will become much clearer and that can only be good thing!

sorry but Levy shouldn't be in charge of choosing players, is getting behond a joke, been going on since Martin Jol, what predigree does he have to pick footballers qualities, can't just come down to money, we have spent money so far based on what is good value for money rather than strengthen the areas in which we need, ffs people we got more options in goal than up front with one day of the window to go, if we don't bring anyone in buck stops with Levy.

I thought Aulas said the other day that we had been back with a bid and it was now "all down to Hugo"? Basically saying that we'd agreed a deal with Lyon?

This morning's l'Equipe report said the clubs had agreed a deal (€12m+up to €4.5m in add-ons)and that Lloris was awaiting a better personal offer. Later, RTL reported that this had been sorted and Lloris was on board, whereupon Lyon claimed we'd gone back on the agreed offer.

Aulas is being a ****.

So why are Moutinho and Willian targets then? I find it very hard to believe that AVB would have little influence on who he wants to come in...imagine a manager having players he's not that plussed on - a multitude of problems could arise in that scenario.

Thanks for that clarification, if the manager is told this before he is appointed then that is ridiculous. Fair enough if he is an actual director of football but no that is a joke.

Wages is probably the bigger factor between those two signings to be fair

This AVB story that he 'threw his toys out of the pram' I guess he has because he was told he has x funds from Modric sale plus anything else before or from other sales. He has at least 30m wants Moutinho for 20 odd - we go out and get him. Simple.

Im not gonna get into this debate but I was a Harry fan and when we werent bringing in the players it was because Levy didnt trust harry blah blah blah. Now it seems that Levy is also messing AVB about.

We have the cash we must do otherwise why buy crap like Sig (not a fan at all and a waste of 8 fucking million) when you should be a) saving it for the new boss and b) spending it on priority signings.
