Hoddle's league record was only marginally better than Juanque's, though, and there were persistent rumours that he'd pissed off most of the squad. Jol was the loser in a power struggle with Comolli and Fatso (and remember we had no ITK there until after the farce at the Rey Alfonso, when a very obviously primed BEN and Dragon1 told us what a bad boy Jol had been).

But hey, we had contingency plans in case Harry went down or got the England job, you know, and Levy was pissed off that we didn't get third. Blimey. I'd never have guessed that. Would he have been less pissed off if Chelsea had lost to Barça or Bayern?

Yes of course less pissed off because we would have had the champions league.

Been wanting to post this all day, but been in meetings all morning and afternoon!

The rumours regarding HR, are completely RUBBISH. As are the rumours re DL and HR not getting along, things are fine between the pair, opposites attract... HR will sign a new contract before pre-season.

Both know this is the window that will make or break us, but they both know we need to make massive signings, not just big money, but players that will take us forward.

Vertonghen, as most of you are aware, is done and dusted, and will be at HH tomorrow for a medical.

We had a bid of 11M + Addons for Damiao turned down, we will DEFINATELY go back in with a bigger bid.

Our three striker targets are ofcourse Ade, LD and Remy, but we will only go for the two.

Expect Nelsen to be released this week.

I never detected much emotion one way or t'other. I think many people inferred this palpable disappointment because they were looking for it. I don't think a person who knew nothing of Harry, England or football would have detected disappointment in his voice if they saw his interviews and they'd been the first thing said footballphobe had every heard or seen of Harry.

There was an interview when he was asked if he could be the manager after Hodgson and he said something along the lines of 'no it's over for me now'. He was genuinely gutted not to get that job.

Also if Levy had agreed that with Harry don't you think he'd have made an announcement or even offered him a new contract?

Nope, I think all parties thought Harry was off and we are now trying to deal with the outcome of that not happening. All opinon of course but I think everything points to that. Unfortunately nothing seems to point towards what the fudge we do next.

Vert mentioned our attacking style of football and very importantly, our trend towards youth. That leaves me with the impression that Levy did the talking to him, not Harry.

Vert has never mentioned Harry, although there was a snippet that Remy wanted assurance that Harry would still be manager.

I think two, maybe three of our players have said publicly that we need to keep Harry ( could have been asked question outright) and only Corluka has criticized him publicly.

I started this post in attempt to clarify things and ended up having no idea what point I am trying to make:confused:

Only going for two suggests that we are keeping JD as well. I can't imagine we'd go into the season with only 2 recognised forwards (again).

I reckon we'll go for LD and Remy. Ade's wages are a big problem for us.
However, having 3 strikers in LD, Remy and Defoe makes us kinda dependent on LD.
Remy and Defoe are too similar imo. If we still gonna have Defoe, we have to bring in 2 strikers that can play alone up front.

We had 3 for the whole of this season.

1st Half (Ade, JD, Pav) 2nd Half (Ade, JD, Saha).

Personally, I would like to see JD sold and us bring in all 3 with Rafa as the no. 10 option.

Remy is very different to Defoe

Without wanting to get into the ITK slag fest which may occur soon, i do think that JJ and Mystery are two of the most reliable ITK's, along with Rebrab. It also seems that Ryantegan knows his stuff when it comes to Harry. All those guys are saying that Harry is staying.

The other ITK's (one in particular) all seem to have fairly poor track records of late, leading me to believe that there are perhaps not as ITK as they used to be.

So whilst i think Harry leaving is no bad thing, i don't think it's looking likely.
