1 - 14m? you trying to tell me that Pienaar, VDV, Sandro, Parker etc only cost 14m? (ill assume u meant last 3 windows not yrs btw)
2 - Berb replacement? Adebayor has joined if you didnt realise
3 - When you play 1 up top do you need more than 3 CFs?

3 windows, yep sorry. A loan signing is the answer? LOL - have a think about how bad that is mate! And as for one up top....... Pav can't do that, proven, Defoe nether, proven, and if Ade's head goes or gets injuries, were fucked.

There's no real thinking begin it? Kane is highly rated by the coaching staff, but he's not the answer yet? I don't know fella, internally there is something very very wrong when theres two lists and the managers one isn't being worked too.

Somebody mentioned that they heard Harry on the radio saying GDS has a part to play in the squad this season.

That was me.
He was on 5Live and when being questioned if we were maybe light on strikers, he replied that GDS would get the chance to play for a place in the squad?

Guess he's got no choice now, considering there's a vacant slot.

Any good players out of contract out there, anyone?

Some of the abuse ITK's are getting is out of order.

people need to grow the fuck up and get real.

you CHOOSE whether to believe it or not but don't slate it or throw abuse at them because of it.

it's not their fault we didn't sign the players you all crave.

suggest the people throwing abuse go to bed.

Good post! All the ITK slaters should just shut up and go to bed, and try to handle their disappointment in some other way.

actually gutted Crouch has gone!!!!
cnat believe i just said that
I won't say I'm gutted, especially as we made a profit (bought him for £9m), but I'd much rather have sold Defoe or Pav and kept Crouch.

I'm pretty happy.

Jenas and Bentleys wages gone for a year and hopefully they play well enough to get good performances.

£26m for Crouch, Hutton, Keane and Palacios, with Adebayor in on loan, Friedel in for free and Parker in for £5m.

Wage bill will be severely reduced, we've spun a profit on the ins and outs while bringing in first teamers and getting rid of second string and we have a smaller, more manageable squad.

Friedel, Gomes, Cudicini,
Walker, Corluka,
Dawson, Kaboul, Bassong, King, Gallas,
Ekotto, Rose,
Lennon, Pienaar,
Modric, Sandro, Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore,
Bale, Kranjcar,
Adebayor, VDV, Defoe, Pavlyuchenko

25 man squad full of quality. Yes, keeping Adebayor fit for the majority of the season will be vital, but that obstacle aside we have reason to be optimistic.

Does Falque fit in there somewhere too?

I'm happy enough - would have liked a CB, but if we can get a few games out of King / Gallas then we'll be OK.

I think you need to take a reality check, its not so much that we lost the player we were hoping to get, its the fact that every year we try and do all our work in 24 hours, and this was shown up today when we found out about the Cahill saga. Bolton moved the goal post, we said OK, Bolton came back try to reopen but there was no time left. ITK's are like betting men, you get some right you get some wrong, I look for what is said on the OS. ITK's have no bearing on when or how a deal will be done.
Thats down to the club. What input did Harry have in transfer dealings?
Did Daniel do it all on hius own?

so do many of the clubs - do you know why? because we dont have a sugar daddy. why would west ham accept 5m on the 1st july? they were clearly trying to hold out for more hence why we didnt sign him until now. we could have paid millions more but as i said, we dont have a sugar daddy like Man City! If you watched SSN you ll notice that MOST PL clubs did their business in the last 24 hours - Arsenal, Stoke, QPR all made loads of signings today.

You need to wake up and realise that money doesnt grow on trees. Unfortunately due to this we have to bargain with clubs and look for the best prices and deals and sometimes deals come off (Parker) and sometimes they dont (Cahill)

It has become clear the aim was to strengthen through the spine of the team: Gk, DC, CM, CF. Three out of four players achieved all of whom materially improve the starting 11. Pretty much all the fringe players out, makes squad look much healthier and now much easier to make additions come future windows. I still think we'll be there or thereabouts.

Wheres the ambision(sp) we were going to show rat face

If I was Levy, the first day back from International break I would take him into the office and tell him that If he wants his £40million move ...............he better start looking like a £40 million player.

Sky licking Harry as usual. Wondering why Levy didnt give him all the cash we made, to spend on a player. Ermm.. maybe if they took into account the net spend under harry, it would make more sense.

Well that totally reflects our actions.

Not being critical of POTL in anyway, he's normally excellent - but the one little line I think what got everybody's hopes up was the proving our ambition to Modric line...after that everybody was convinced we would see some major signings to demonstrate our ambition to our 'star' players...

And I fully agree with you cos I was hoping for something. I was just putting some bit of perspective on it. Our squad was too big for a few seasons. We needed to get shot of a few. Just unfortunate that we really didn't prove our ambition at the end of it all.
