Someone mentioned this, to which he replied:

Confident in my info I know what we offered and what we were countered , Jose prefers king over Wilson

burnley want a lot of money for woods and ings is 50

Tanguy not likely to go for another month so we don’t have the money for a big striker now and we need for uefa and league cup etc

Hmm AG suggested King was a last resort, maybe we just hit that point today? Would make some sense as we need a striker in for the EL game in two weeks.

Wilson looking geordie bound, Wood too costly, Tanguy nowhere near leaving to fund an Ings or Milik. Whereas King is available and relatively cheap.

What is meant by a 'big striker?

Big money I guess. If that is meant to refer to Woods or Ings, surely we'd prefer the risk that comes with an overseas player than blowing all of our savings on 28 year olds.

2 metre Peter imo (not ITK)

Wasn't sure about his age but I think we should steer clear if that's accurate.

Yep, probably an accurate summary. Although I can’t really get enamoured about a signing who is basically cheapest on a list.

Exactly this, games are about to come thick and fast like never seen before, so we don’t have time on our side, a striker is a must before the season starts & if that’s king then so be it

Oh and Tagliofoco looks to be more Ajax idea than ours. Not ruling it out if players should move the other way, but def not a priority.

That's good to hear as prefer the target that AG mentioned. Ajax have some cash after VDB joins united, Ziyech and the previous windows, no need to accept a player swap if we don't want it.

Cheers for info Trix

Cheers @Trix

I'd definitely back you and Ally Gold over Dragon. Will be a massive coup for Dragon if King happens this week.

They’ve lost two of the most obvious buyers in Chelsea (Chilwell) and Leicester (Castagne) so makes sense that they’d dangle him in front of us. Didn’t realise how old he was though. Thought he was way younger.

If we can't spend 50m on a striker (which i'd rather we didn't anyway because we have Kane), then i'd just rather get a cheap backup and if/when Tanguy leaves spend that money on a creative 6 or 8 because obviously Tanguy was supposed to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

It sounds dramatic but I honestly think just how successful our season may be depends on it... Even in the Amazon documentary Jose said when Eriksen plays the team has more of a flow, or something along those lines and that element still hasn't been replaced.

A lot of our current/recent performances remind me of how we looked whenever Eriksen didn't play in his time with us. The fluidity was just sucked out and we depended on individual brilliance.

After that Lo Celso started playing and we have signed Bergwijn who is very creative

Help please. What was Ally Golds info?
That we aren't interested in King at this moment.

Trouble is we have something mental like 9 games in 21 days in under 2 weeks. Going into that with only one striker at the club who fits the manager's system would, yet again, be laughably negligent.

Don't want to go off topic in any way so I'll just say this. It still doesn't have the necessary effect though IMO. Although he does help in that regard, we still had plenty of games with Lo Celso where we were massively lacking the required fluidity. I think we have many of the right ingredients now but still need that gel to connect it all.
