Well, to be honest for a loan of 2m i would consider it too. but then a lot of that is based on the fact that i worry that we haven't managed to get any of our striking options in (yet), so getting a little antsy.

I can't help but feel we have been here before and that Levy has no problem letting us start the first few games with just Defoe (whose head and fitness can't be good) and Kane (has he even played an EPL game?) to save that little bit more.

The striker situation will resolve itself when Luka bloody joins Madrid. £30-£35m will go a long way in securing the 2nd striker we need (presumably the 1st one is Adebayor).

What does "keeping an eye on" mean? As a manager he should know everything about every premier league player. This is just tripe to hype up his aura of 'we could'a been a contender'.

Under 3 weeks to kick off and our strikeforce realistically consists of Defoe.....

I agree re the struggle to make top 6 if we dont sign some real quality. The risk of new Manager and formation combined with the loss of Modric could present a real problem. At present I am not convinced we are any stronger than last year Sig has only had a six month purple patch and personally doesnt look like a significant upgrade on what would have been our starting 11 and Verts is going to take some time to get used to the pace and strength of the PL.
Even the rumored imminent incomings of Adebayor and Lloris doesnt make us any more competitive as we had Adebayor last year and for me Friedel was pretty much faultless throughout the season.
The crux is what we get as a replacement for Modric but I struggle to see us getting anyone who will hold, pass and generally knit the team together in the opponents half as well as he does.

He must rate Modric massively then as he's publicly stated he thinks we can challenge for the title. Modric the difference between challenging for the title and scraping the top 6?
