Not me. I'm still in the "do not sell him to a rival" camp and I'll be here until the bitter end :p

Same. I don't want him to leave for any amount, but if he has to, the only way i'd be ok with it is if we sell him abroad and replace him with a world class RB like an Alves type, who is getting on a bit so couldn't play every game meaning he'd share the RB spot evenly with Trippier.

He's been here years. It'd be sad to see him leave even if he isn't our most important player.

He's the player who's been at the club the longest now IIRC.

@jetsetyid hearing that the lemar deal is a no go, can you shed some light. On or off?

Ah, the totally ambiguous ITK. Good stuff and sure to kill a few days speculating in this thread.

Just sounds like we're interested, but sod all has happened either way. Still better than an outright "no chance"

I still expect us to sign Barkley instead.

If JJ doesn't dismiss a rumour I treat that as very positive. Lemar and Sessegnon would be fine for this window if we dont sell any first team players

I think that's right, given the kids we have coming through. Ideally support at CB and CM could be considered, but I'd want them as youngsters with potential. And to get Lemar would be incredible, it would be fantastic.

I just happen to think the Lemar is very unlikely. It would be very much against anything else we've managed in the transfer market at any other point - a genuine potential star that lots of top teams would covet.

Modric would be the only other example really, and yet at the time it was only us and Newcastle that were after him - which in hindsight is absolutely crazy!

I read that as we're interested but it's not advanced to a stage where it can be referred to as "on".

You have omitted the 'thumbs up' emoji at the end of JJ's second statement. That would certainly make it a more positive utterance.

Completely different positions and type of player.
