What part do you actually disagree with - the facts? I'd bet you that the contract at the goons hasn't actually come into play yet for example. It actually can't. See below. Or is it my use of the term 'most'

When does the transfer window re-open?
Like every year the summer window officially opens on July 1, but players, agents and clubs will be discussing contract terms and final fees long before then.

There is no major tournament this year, so you can expect transfer talk to fill the back-pages throughout the long summer.

When does the transfer window close?
The transfer window will slam shut on Thursday, August 31 with another frantic window expected. It is due to shut at 23.00pm.

I think the disagree is for the "I doubt most get announced until at least then" comment.

Oh well I'll cease that then. Last comment on it - just thinking out loud - I wonder what the balance of announcements will be between the end of the season and that between July 1st and the closing of the window? And how 'most' is seen compared to this.

This thread becomes the hotbed for all transfer talk through the windows because with the transfer threads gone from Spurs Chat, there's nowhere to have that chat unless we're explicitly linked (itk or paper talk).

I get the rules on this thread, but I personally like talking about and reading players/staff people would like us to sign irrespective of links and just opinion.

A&C and Rob I'm sure would have looked into it, but I'm guessing it's one of the core culprits for why this thread in particular has to be governed.

You're free to do exactly that in any one of the player threads where the rules are a bit more relaxed. For example, Barkley, if you preferred us to sign someone else, fire away. In that thread. It's not like we don't understand the need, we've provided a venue for it so there's no need at all for people to treat us to their thoughts on who'd they'd like or "wishlist" in this thread.

The only ones that have been visibly active are City.

Whilst certainly one on my wishlist, there has been various sources reporting our interest. Some even going as far to say we have sent scouts to watch.

Understand the thread shouldn't descend into a wishlist, but links are out there, heck you could even call them rumours, didn't post links because I am aware the source might not be that reputable.

If the player has not been mentioned by one of the recognised ITK, the name does not belong in this thread.

Here, we only do sexually explicit banter and posts about players ITK talk about. In that order.

It's a fine balance.

If you do that in the player threads then people inevitably start getting annoyed that the thread has veered away from the player the thread is meant to be about.

I do get that a general transfer window chat thread is incredibly difficult to moderate, though. The Twitter thread being a good example of that.
