Maybe when cabinessence referred to 11 players out in his ITK he was actually talking about Bale leaving.

Now I'm worried too dammit.

Oh good, lets focus and over-analyse the obvious.

A summary of Brazilyid's info is that we expect a large bid to be made for Bale, and most people expect it to be from Real. We've made plans for this. If it is a large enough bid, it'll be considered. Bale would also consider joining RM.

How is that different to where we were yesterday, or last week?

Bale will stay unless we agree to sell him. At present we are not expecting to sell him. But as we know, all things are fluid in transfers.

I'm not too downbeat about this because as Brazil Yid says, the info is a few weeks old and who knows how long it took to get to him in the first place? This could well be what the position was (us expecting a bid etc) before or at the end of last season and who knows what's gone on/changed since then. Might be something, might be nothing.

At the end of the day, every player has their price and that's the position even if Bale had only signed a new contract yesterday and gave an interview saying how he doesn't want to go anywhere. Its always the position.

Not if you have just told your head coach and new star signing that he isn't going anywhere.

If we sign Paulinho, Villa and the Croatian lads, then it is my fear that we will sell Bale at the end of the window to finance the incomings.

Thee are so many reasons I can't see Bale leaving to RM
  1. AVB staying
  2. Incoming signings Paulinho, Villa
  3. Possible sponsorship deals (stadium)for Levy
  4. RM is still not sure if its worth gambling 80million+ on Bale
  5. Bale's deal with BT
  6. Possible imbalance by selling Higain & buying Bale
  7. RM dont have money (just a speculation)

From Madrid perspective, it doesnt make sense to buy Bale & sell Higuain. It means they have a imbalanced squad with Benzema as their only recognized striker. Will they go into such a massive season with such imbalance ?

The only way they sell Higuain is buying a striker replacement whether its Cavani or Suarez or Lewandowski. Problem with Cavani is, Napoli are after cash & I don't think RM can give straight cash. Suarez looks the likeliest option to me.

From our perspective, keeping Bale is the best option for Levy. We attract better players & hopefully better sponsorship.
Levy would not mind these media BS as its invariably adds publicity to the club - but only as long as Bale is not thinking of pushing for a move this season.

All these could change if Ronaldo does make a move out. But with Neymar added to Barca means, Perez CANNOT afford to loose Ronaldo.

So, I cannot see Bale leaving this season to RM.

He's not one of the 11 he's all of the 11. Gareth Bale is a one man team apparently. I read it in the papers at all of last season.

So, we have been or are expecting or anticipating a massive bid for Bale......really, that is really earth shattering news that the club that holds the registration to one of the worlds superstars is expecting a massive bid for him....at least tell me something that may shock me.....

as for the validity to this statement. firstly as someone else has mentioned RM, who would be the most likely bidders, still owe us 22m, they no longer have Morinho, which imo was a very important cog in the Bale to Madrid deal...

Personally and this is just my opinion but i dont think it will happen this season.

Even then. Every player has his price. Whatever the circumstances, whoever the player, there is a number. Sorry to disagree, it wouldn't be very nice of Levy to go back on a promise, even if he pinkie swore, but if the price is right, he'll sell.

Fear not, it makes poor business sense to sell Bale and Levy cant be accused of that.

But i'll add to me two earlier posts by saying that I think he'll still be here next season. This time next year this thread is going to be carnage.

Or maybe the extra TV money will go towards most, and reduction in wages with players released and sold will pay for the rest? no need to sell Bale.

What a horrific way to start the day. I was confident he was staying for another year, especially after what Paulinho said, now I'm scared :(

Nah those incomings would amount to about 45mil and 17mil of that (Croats) would be paid over many years id imagine. Bale wont be sold this summer. The club will look particularly foolish especially in light of recent comments from AVB and Paulinho.

The incomings will be funded by transfer kitty plus the sale of quite a few fringe players. None of us will know how much of a transfer budget AVB will be given either.

When Ronaldo was transferred from Utd to Madrid Utd insisted on his fee being paid in one lump sum. Madrid duly obliged.

If Madrid want to get the £ together they can and will with the help of the state Bank. Don't kid yourself thinking they won't pay the fee or in one hit.

After Neymars transfer Bale is the hottest property bar none.

If Bale leaves then, he loses the BT sport contract, because he is the face of it promoting the Premiership. He ain't going anywhere. BT Sport wouldn't have signed up unless there was something saying that he would be here for their launch season.

Just finished yesterdays thread, and want to add my tuppence worth.

I work with a Real Madrid fan, and he expects a huge bid from Real for Bale. Perez was already under pressure and then Barca signed Neymar. Then Neymar played quite well in the Con Cup and put him under even more pressure for a star signing. Isco has hardly made a ripple, and plenty saying even Suarez will not keep the Madrid "faithful" happy. Only Bale or Cavani will appease them as it stands. It is one of the reasons that Higuain has not been announced to Arsenal yet as he is a fan favourite and selling him without a big name in will cause huge unrest.

He agreed with me that as £80m has been bandied around and ignored it would take an even bigger bid for Levy to start considering it, at which point he may well leave it up to Bale to choose, or should I say his girlfriend, she may hold the key to where he goes.

If Cardiff City are bought by a consortium of sheikhs and oligarchs there could be trouble ahead :cautious:.

Pessimist I may be but this makes sense. Can't see Bale going this window.
Can't help thinking that we would still need another creative attacking player as well as Villa and Paulie thats ready for the 1st team next year though.

Do you think he laid in bed at night dreaming of being the face of BT's premiership coverage?!

I have no doubt that Gareth wants to go to Real Madrid, it's most players dream, but I haven't seen anything to suggest he will force a move. Also from our point of view there is no reason to accept an offer as chances are we would be looking at the same money next summer.
