Top top triffic goal scoring midfielder. Exactly what we're missing in my opinion.

I agree, but I think his goals slightly overshadow the fact that he wouldn't work in a midfield two.

If he played in VDV's position then maybe it could work, but is he better than VDV?

Squad player imo. A good one at that, but I could see him going the way of Niko if he joined us, and I doubt he'd want that.

My personal opinion is that he'll join Liverpool and walk straight into their starting XI.

Glyfi played in the hole for Swansea so maybe he would be understudy for VDV

I dunno what makes people think Gylfi Sigurdsson would want to be an understudy after the great 6 months he had

Sigurdsson is a very good player, just not the type of player we really need right now. He would be a great alternative to VDV if we can afford him along with the more important positions (striker, wide attacker, centre back, goalkeeper)

Sigurdsson would be decent addition to the squad. Don't think first XI for our ambitions though, but a lot of potential and talent has this guy. Could fill in in every position in a offensive midfield

First XI mentaility still rules I see. Gylfi would be a cracking addition to the SQUAD. Sure, have a prefered XI for crucial games but if we go into next season with a rigid first XI + the rest mindset as a club, we're fuct. Properly.

And RIP to DL's mother. :(

He can play on the wing as well. He does for Iceland from time to time (on the left) and played wide a few games for Swansea. He is very versatile but he's best in the hole.

Did Swansea agree a fee of 6.2m for him? I take it he hasn't yet agreed terms and signed yet?

I think he would be an excellent purchase for that price :)

Totally agree, I mean if we could add the guy to the squad I would be over the moon. But what I think will end up happening is you have VDV unhappy he has to compete for a first team spot or unhappy when he is rotated. And Sigurdsson who has shown he can cut it in the Prem, reduced to a sub.

But yeah totally agree, clubs need a squad mentality, Man Utd have negotiated a tricky transition (and still are) using a squad and squad mentality. Alot of the smaller sides who experience success and punch above their financial weight tend to do it through have a good squad and giving everyone a chance.

I think Rodgers said he is Swansea's man but if he doesn't like the new manager he would sign him for bin dippers.
